Vocus Marketing Conference Contest
Eligibility:NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT IS NECESSARY IN ORDER TO ENTER THE CONTEST.
The Contest is open to those individuals who are at least eighteen years old and legal residents of the fifty United States or Washington, D.C. and who submit a written or video essay answering “Why are you excited to see Arianna at the marketing conference?” (an “Entrant”). Employees of any federal, state, or local government are not eligible, nor are employees of Vocus, Inc., or its subsidiaries or affiliates (“Sponsor”), advertising or promotional agencies, or anyone else involved in the development or fulfillment of this Contest, or any members of the immediate family or household of such employees. The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited or restricted by law or regulations.
How to enter: Between January 23, 2013, 5:00 pm EST and January 31, 2013, 11:59 pm EST, submit a written or video essay answering “Why are you excited to see Arianna Huffington at the Vocus Marketing Conference?” Written responses must be less than 300 words. Video responses must be less than 2:00 minutes and uploaded to YouTube publicity. Written and Video entries must be submitted by replying to the confirmation email received after entering to win through the “Win a Trip to the Vocus Conference Contest” tab on Vocus’ Facebook page. Entries must be original and created by the entrant. Each Entrant must include their: first name, last name, company, company revenue size, email address in its submission. All submissions must be in English. Submissions will be judged on: enthusiasm, knowledge of the industry and creativity. Only one submission per Entrant.
Prizes: One Grand Prize is available and includes: One (1) coach round-trip airfare from anywhere in the Continental US to Baltimore Washington International Airport, or Reagan National Airport (or train ticket or car mileage reimbursement based on the IRS Standard Mileage Rates) (cost not to exceed $600.00); two night stay at the Gaylord National Harbor, including all taxes and fees (cost not to exceed $400.00); transportation from the airport to the Gaylord National Harbor (cost not to exceed $100.00); and 1 registration and admission to the Vocus Conference on Thursday, June 20, 2013 and Friday, June 21, 2013 (cost not to exceed $1,095.00). If actual costs exceed the amounts stated above, Winner will be responsible for paying the difference. One second place prize includes a Vocus Prize Pack of an umbrella, Vocus T-shirt and mug (valued at $50.00). One third place prize of a Vocus T-shirt (valued at $20.00). Winner is solely responsible for the payment of all federal, state and local taxes and all other expenses or costs relating to the prize not expressly set forth above. Prize is non-transferable and no substitution by winner for cash equivalent is allowed. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
Winner Notification: The winners will be selected by Sponsor’s panel of judges. The Judge’s selection is final, and will be determined in their sole discretion. The potential winner will be notified by email using the contact information given at the time of entry. The Grand Prize Winner will be notified by February 4, 2013. The Grand Prize Winner must accept the prize by February 11, 2013. Second and third place prizes will be notified by February 15, 2013. Sponsor shall have no liability for any winner notification that is lost, intercepted or not received by a potential winner for any reason. If a potential winner does not respond within the time period stated above, or if the prize or prize notification is returned as unclaimed or undeliverable to such potential winner, such potential winner may be disqualified and an alternate winner may be selected. If any potential winner is found to be ineligible, or if he or she has not complied with these Official Rules or declines a prize for any reason prior to award, such potential winner will be disqualified and an alternate winner may be selected. Each potential winner may be required to execute an Affidavit of Eligibility, a Liability Release, and (where legal) a Publicity Release. Failure to comply when requested may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. Each winner must comply with his/her employer’s policy on acceptance of any prize.
Release of Liability: By entering, you release Sponsor and its subsidiaries, affiliates, partners, employees, directors, and agents, including advertising agencies, from any and against any and all injury, loss or damage caused or claimed to be caused by your participation in the Contest and/or the acceptance, awarding, receipt, use and/or misuse of any prize, and you release Sponsor, and its respective affiliates, subsidiaries, directors, employees and agents, and all others associated with the development and execution of this Contest from any such liability and agree that these entities are not responsible for any warranty, representation, or guarantee, expressed or implied, in fact or in law, relating to any prize.
Additional Rules: Entry materials/data that have been tampered with or altered are void. No mechanically reproduced entries are eligible. No responsibility is assumed for lost, late, misdirected, damaged, or illegible entries. By entering, you: (i) agree to be bound by these Official Rules, including all eligibility requirements; (ii) agree to be bound by the decisions of judges, which are final and binding in all matters relating to the Contest; (iii) agree to be contacted by e-mails, phone and/or mail by Sponsor and its subsidiaries and affiliates about Sponsor’s services; (iv) represent and warrant that you have the legal right to make your submission, and your submission does not violate any third party’s intellectual property rights; (v) agree not to submit anything that would be considered pornographic, obscene, defamatory, disparaging, or otherwise unlawful; (vi) assign all rights of your submission to Sponsor, allowing Sponsor to perpetually re-use, re-distribute, and copy your submission. Failure to comply with these Official Rules may result in disqualification from the Contest. Sponsor reserves the right to: (i) permanently disqualify from any contest it sponsors any person it believes has intentionally violated these Official Rules; and (ii) to suspend, modify or terminate the Contest if Sponsor believes, in its sole discretion, that malfunction, error, disruption or damage is impairing or will impair the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper play of the Contest. If Contest is terminated early, Sponsor will determine the winner from all eligible entries received as of the termination date. Entry constitutes consent to the use of prize winner’s name, voice, picture and/or likeness without compensation for promotion purposes to the extent allowed by law. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of the entrant, any on-line entry will be deemed submitted by the authorized account holder of the e-mail account from which it was sent, provided such account holder must still meet the eligibility requirements for the Contest. The authorized account holder shall be the natural person to whom the applicable email address has been assigned by the Internet access provider, service provider, or other online organization responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Entrant agrees that any and all disputes and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest, or any prizes awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action lawsuit. Under no circumstances will Entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and Entrant hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental or consequential damages, or any other damages, including attorneys’ fees. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of Entrants and Sponsor in connection with this Contest, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Maryland without regard to choice of law rules. Any suits related to this Contest or these rules will be brought exclusively in the State of Maryland, and Entrant agrees to the personal jurisdiction thereof.
