Seek Or Shout closing on October 29

Cision has decided to discontinue Seek Or Shout—the free community site that has been instrumental in helping PR, marketing and media professionals connect, communicate and collaborate—in light of our recent partnership with Help A Reporter Out (HARO), the industry’s fastest growing publicity service and one of Vocus’ most popular offerings. Seek Or Shout is slated to close October 29.

Seek Or Shout, which launched in 2012 and has more than 14,000 members, has been in many ways a success. We’ve seen your stories go from ideas and pitches to published work in print, broadcast and online media. We’ve seen content creators forge valuable relationships at a time when old-fashioned storytelling has become critical to the media and marketing mix. We’ve witnessed the community leverage the site in ways we couldn’t imagine—a forum for career advice, a place to hire freelance writers and producers, a way to find brand ambassadors. Now we’re turning to HARO to build upon our mission and successes, and provide a better experience for our audience through enhanced features, improved usability and an expanded network.

With HARO, members have access to more than 250,000 expert sources and 30,000 journalists and bloggers, representing 100,000 news media sources—even more people to help you with your story. HARO also offers Industry Newsletters and Publicity Alerts delivering real-time opportunities directly to your inbox, online search capabilities for the HARO database and richer Bios and Journalist Details, so you can reach the most appropriate contacts and get the best sources or coverage. Best of all, we’re offering Cision Media Database subscribers a free membership to HARO Premium. Please read more to see how you can get HARO Premium added to your existing account.

For Seek Or Shout users who are not Cision Media Database subscribers, we invite you to see if the free HARO Basic membership is right for you, or learn how you can get HARO Premium free through Cision.

Please note that Seek Or Shout accounts will not transfer to the HARO platform. We ask that you do not delete your Seek Or Shout account prior to the termination date, as all accounts and personal information will be purged automatically when the site is taken offline. Email notifications will cease on or before October 29.

Thank you for making Seek Or Shout a success over the past three years. We look forward to seeing you as part of the HARO community and we hope our decision shows Cision’s commitment to finding new and more effective ways to Power Your Story.
