Cision Experts to Address Social Media Issues In Upcoming Webinars and Industry Conferences

CHICAGO, April 9, 2010 – Cision, the leading provider of software, services and tools for the media and public relations industry, today announced a spring 2010 slate of webinar and conference appearances by two of its experts on the social media revolution.

Heidi Sullivan, Cision vice president, media research, kicks off the appearance schedule by hosting “The Balancing Act: Finding the Right Mix of Traditional and Social Media,” an IABC Web Seminar, on Wednesday, April 14, from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. EDT (9 to 10:30 a.m. PDT). Sullivan’s 90-minute webinar will help participants make sense of how the different social media platforms fit into a communications plan, how to determine which media types are best for a particular campaign, and how to create compelling content that’s successful across social media. Learn more about, and register for, this webinar.

Jay Krall, Cision global product manager, will present “Engaging with Online Influencers and Measuring Results” at the Canadian Public Relations Conference, June 13-15, at the Delta Regina Hotel, Regina, Saskatchewan. Krall will discuss how to develop a social media strategy, even with limited resources; ways to identify key influencers on a given topic; how to build credibility in online communities; and setting goals and defining success in concrete, quantifiable terms.

“Understanding social media, engaging appropriately with it, and measuring its impact continues to be a hot-button topic for communicators and marketers,” Sullivan said. “Best practices in social media relations evolve on an almost daily basis. These webinars and conferences give us a chance to share our experience and knowledge with communicators and others who are passionate about social media and its game-changing potential to bring communities together.”
