Last night, Twitter was buzzing with conversations about the #SheenRoast on Comedy Central and Ashton Kutcher’s premiere in Two and a Half Men. And it seems Comedy Central’s efforts to socialize the Charlie Sheen roast were a success – tweets about the roast were more than double that of Two and a Half Men.

The roasters themselves, ranging from socially active comedians and actors to boxing champion Mike Tyson, also sparked quite a bit of conversation. Comedian Amy Schumer ignited the twitter-sphere with a controversial joke about the death of Jackass star Ryan Dunn. While some chided her for making an insensitive joke, others defended her – after all, it was a roast. As you can see in the graph below, tweets about Amy Schumer dominated the conversation with 38% of tweets mentioning her and Mike Tyson and host Seth MacFarlane coming in with 16.9% and 11.5% respectively.

All in all, it was a fun night monitoring the two shows and seeing fans engage with each other, the roasters, and other comedians chiming in, like Lisa Lampanelli. And what better way to kick off Social Media Week?! Kudos to Sheen for his gracious sense of humor and to Comedy Central for embracing social media during the broadcast.
