When a few big life moments left Busola Coutts in need of a creative outlet, she turned her sights on blogging. Since she launched her blog,  The Fashion Stir Fry, Busola has served as a Lucky magazine contributor and was chosen as a POPSUGAR select VIP member. Here, she tells us about her love for fashion and style, her PR pet peeves, and about how blogging provides opportunity to connect with people worldwide.

Q: Tell us a bit about how and why you started The Fashion Stir Fry!

A: After having my daughter, two and half months later my husband and I moved to Jamaica from Toronto, Canada, because he got a job offer there. Being a full-time stay-at-home mom and living in a new country with no friends, I needed something or a space to channel my thoughts and reconnect with the world again. Fashion and styling is something I am so passionate about so I decided to start a blog, which gives me an opportunity to unload all my creative juices and connect with like-minds.

Q: So, why fashion?
Fashion is art and developing an interest for it comes so naturally for me. It is a way of expressing myself creatively as a person and I simply find it to be a source of inspiration in so many creative ways. I love the originality of it and the drive it gives me to do better.

Q: Who does the photography for your blog? It’s great!
Thank you so much. Most of the photos are taken by my husband, William. Meanwhile, I also shoot some myself with a tripod but he takes the cake. He always does a way better job than I do.

Q: Is blogging a full-time gig? If not, what are you doing when not being a fashion blogger?
Right now, it is pretty much a full-time gig. I am still home taking care of my daughter but it would be nice to see where blogging takes me.

Q: Who is your target audience?
Every young girl trying to find her style and who needs some style inspiration–because I was that girl. Also every woman, be it single, married, stay-home mom or working mom, because I was and am now, that woman.

Q: What has been your favorite opportunity as a fashion blogger?
Meeting so many other amazing and inspiring fashion bloggers from all over the world through blogging.

Q: What are some of the challenges?
Being a very highly competitive and pretty saturated area of blogging, coming up with fresh new items to post almost every day in order to keep my readers coming back for more can be challenging, but I love it. It keeps me on my toes and it is my drive to stay on top of things.

Q: What are your PR pet peeves?
A: When I am contacted but after responding they seem to have no clue on what job exactly they contacted me for again. Priceless.

Q: Any tips for PR professionals who want to get in contact with you?
The sky is my limit.
