Terence Samuel, previously the politics editor for The Washington Post, has been named Washington editor and will oversee coverage of the White House and Congress. Before joining The Washington Post, Samuel served as the managing editor in charge of congressional coverage for National Journal, as well as editor at large and deputy editor for The Root. Former deputy politics editor Dan Eggen has been promoted to campaign editor overseeing coverage of 2014 and 2016 Elections. Prior to serving as deputy politics editor, Eggen was a national staff writer covering influence and power in Washington including the White House, the Department of Justice and the FBI, as well as legal issues and national news. Lastly, former night editor of politics news Vince Bzdek has been named day editor. Bzdek previously was the universal night editor.
