There are so many different types of influencers engaging online and in real life but Heidi Sullivan, senior vice president, product at Cision, has a superb definition for all of them.
An influencer, she explained to an audience at the International Association of Business Communicator’s World Conference, held in New Orleans on June 6 is, “A person whose voice resonates with his or her community and can inspire that community to take action.”
Being an influencer means you aren’t just informing people but mobilizing them towards something, be that a product, an idea or an action.
