A.G. Sulzberger is following in his family’s footsteps after being named deputy publisher of The New York Times, beginning Nov. 1. A member of his family has been in the publisher role since 1896, and this announcement marks a generational shift in the company. A.G. joined the Times in 2009 on the metro desk before serving as national correspondent and bureau chief in Kansas City.
