Anna Jo Bratton has been named U.S. West deputy director of newsgathering for the Associated Press. This is a new position that oversees breaking news and enterprise for all media formats across California, Colorado, Arizona, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, New Mexico, Utah, Nevada, Hawaii and Alaska. Bratton is based in Phoenix. She was most recently an assistant editor in the West since 2010, and a desk editor for a year prior to that. She joined the Associated Press in 2007 serving as a politics reporter based in Omaha, Neb. Follow the Associated Press on Twitter.
