  • CisionScoopChristina Izzo has joined Rachael Ray Every Day as food features editor. She comes from Time Out New York, where she spent the last three years as food and drinks editor. Izzo has also edited the women’s lifestyle website Sheckys.com.
  • CisionScoop: Former VICE staffer James Yeh has left his position as culture editor to pursue freelancing opportunities. He will focus on lifestyle and culture stories. Yeh had been with VICE since 2015, and prior to that worked as a freelance copy editor for New York Magazine. He is also the founding editor of Gigantic.
  • There have been a handful of changes at The New York Times newsroom home and abroad, including:
    • Ian Fisher, Jerusalem bureau chief, has accepted a buyout. He has been with NYT since 1990 and has worn many hats, including Eastern Europe bureau chief, Rome bureau chief, deputy foreign editor, and deputy executive editor among others.
    • David Halbfinger has been named Jerusalem bureau chief and will begin his duties in September. He is currently the paper’s deputy national editor and joined NYT in 1997 as metro reporter.
    • Bruce Headlam, senior editor for the Opinion pages since 2015, has accepted a buyout. Headlam has been on staff since 1998 when he joined NYT as Circuits editor.
    • Charles Duhigg, who has been running the NYT live events as senior editor since 2015, has accepted a buyout. He joined the paper in 2006 as a business reporter.
    • Christopher Drew, defense reporter, has accepted a buyout. He joined NYT in 1995 as a reporter and has covered the defense, military and airspace beat since then. Prior to that, he reported for the Chicago Tribune.
    • Carlotta Gall has been named Istanbul bureau chief. She has been with NYT since 1999 and most recently served as senior correspondent out of Northern Africa. She has also worked for The Economist, The Financial Times, and The Moscow Times.
  • Ren LaForme has joined Poynter. as digital tools reporter, effective July 17. He previously served as interactive learning producer at the Poynter Institute, and has also served as editor in chief of The Crow’s Nest and The Quintessential Gentleman.
  • The Atlantic continues to grow its roster of contributors and has added two foreign policy experts to its masthead. Kori Schake and Amy Zegart are the magazine’s newest contributing editors, both covering national security and international affairs. Both will contribute to the print and online editions of the publication.
  • After four seasons on-air, Comedy Central‘s game show @midnight, will end its run on August 4. Originally launched in 2013 and produced by Funny or Die, the late-night show was a comedy, talk panel, game show hybrid that dealt with all things internet and social media. The game show portion of the program features celebrity guests.
  • Luis Carrasco has switched roles at the Arizona Daily Star, and now serves as the paper’s newest editorial page writer. He most recently served as business reporter for the Star, a position he has held since 2014. Carrasco joined the paper in 2013 as editorial assistant, and prior to that worked as a web producer for the Chattanooga Times Free Press.
