  • Margaret Coker will join The New York Times as Baghdad bureau chief. Coker comes from The Wall Street Journal, where she most recently led its Istanbul bureau. She joined the paper in 2008 as a Middle East correspondent.
  • The NYT also hired BuzzFeed’s Jina Moore as bureau chief in Nairobi, Kenya. Moore reported on global women’s rights issues as senior foreign correspondent for BuzzFeed News since 2014. She previously worked as an Africa correspondent for the Christian Science Monitor.
  • Fox News suspended host Eric Bolling pending the results of an internal network investigation. Bolling was previously part of a rotating panel on The Five before it moved to 9 p.m. following Bill O’Reilly’s departure. He remained in the 5 p.m. slot as host of The Specialists, which launched in May.
  • Political commentator Kayleigh McEnany exited CNN for a role as GOP spokesperson. Prior to joining the network last year to bolster its political coverage, McEnany was a frequent guest on Fox News.
  • Gizmodo Media Group picked up David Uberti as a media reporter for its newly re-branded Splinter platform. He joins from Columbia Journalism Review.
  • CNBC upped Contessa Brewer from contributor to general assignment reporter. Brewer previously worked as a freelance co-anchor for CBSN and weekend morning anchor at WNBC-TV, New York’s NBC affiliate.
  • Kristen Wile will replace Michael Graff as editor of Charlotte magazine on Aug. 18. Graff has been at the helm for several years and will stay on as a columnist. Wile joined the publication as a senior editor in 2014 and has also handled food coverage. She previously worked at The Washington Post.
  • Maggie Carlo left Chicago’s WGN-TV to return to Oklahoma City’s KOCO-TV as co-anchor of the morning show. Carlo spent her initial stint at KOCO anchoring the evening news before joining WGN in 2008.
