CisionScoop: Marci Robin Zitner will work her last day at Good Housekeeping on Jan 26, after serving as the senior beauty editor. She held the role for a little under a year, and is now freelancing from Florida.
Teen Vogue has named Phillip Picardi the new chief content editor. This is following Elaine Welteroth’s departure, who had been with the magazine since May 2016. Picardi will be taking over operations of all digital publications, including “Them.”
Changes have come to The Wall Street Journal‘s Middle East coverage: Michael Amon has been named deputy bureau chief for the WSJ Dubai bureau (he will also serve as a reporter), while Sune Engel Rasmussen has been named a correspondent based out of Beirut. Amon has been an energy editor for Europe, the Middle East and Africa for the WSJ; Rasmussen comes from The Guardian, previously a correspondent covering Afghanistan and Pakistan. h/t TalkingBizNews
Martin Hoops, previously art director for Rolling Stone and Vogue, is now the design director for ELLE. This is Nina Gracia’s most recent hire since becoming editor in chief, after tapping Stephen Gan for the position of creative director.
The Washington Post has made several changes to the newsroom in the following areas:
- Jessica Stahl is the new director of audio, and will be responsible for a large team of audio producers and editors. In the past four years, she’s had extensive experience with the Post, serving as audience producer, deputy audio editor, and executive producer for podcasts.
- Jennifer Barrios joins the Post as reporter, covering Montgomery County. She will begin late this month, after serving as a deputy editor at Newsday. She also reported for the Austin American-Statesman in Texas.
- The Post’s education team welcomes a new D.C. schools reporter by the name of Perry Stein, effective immediately. She has been a blogger for the paper since early 2015.
- Previously a metro reporter, Fenit Nirappil will now be joining the City Hall team. He was originally on the local politics team.
After serving as interim anchor in 2017, Mekahlo Medina has officially been promoted to co-anchor of the Weekend edition of Today in LA, at KNBC-TV. Medina is a past president of the NAHJ, and started as an anchor at KNBC in 2006.
WPEC-TV, the CBS affiliate in West Palm Beach, names Chrissy Funk the new creative services director. She previously worked in Jacksonville, Denver, Pittsburgh, Albany, and most recently in West Palm Beach, Florida as creative services director for WPTV.
