CisionScoopDiana Budds has joined Curbed as the blog’s senior story producer, focusing on the Curbed Video vertical where she’ll cover  design, architecture, urbanism, and culture. Budds comes from Co. Design, where she spent the last two years as senior editor. Before that, she was a senior editor at Dwell for four years.

CisionScoop: Travel + Leisure has promoted Hannah Walhout to assistant editor. She was previously an editorial assistant at the publication, and joined the staff in late 2017. Prior to that, she was an editorial assistant at Food & Wine.

CisionScoop: Sophia Smith is the newest content producer at Medium, the social networking site catered toward professional journalists and media novices. Smith will work with partner publications to produce syndicated content for Medium’s paid membership program. She was previously the managing editor for Make magazine.

The Washington Post has announced the following moves and promotions:

  • Longtime sports editor Keith McMillan  has moved to the general assignment desk as deputy editor. He has been on the sports desk since 2007 in variety of roles, including assignment editor, MLB editor, and Sunday NFL editor.
  • Tracy Grant is now the managing editor for staff development and standards. She has been with WaPo since 1993, and most recently served as deputy managing editor. She has also been Washington Business editor, the newsroom’s first web editor, and features editor among others.
  • Thomas Johnson has moved to the Audience team as audience editor in Sports. He joined WaPo in 2014 as video editor, and was most recently the first video editor to be embedded with the General Assignment team.

Buzzfeed has named Tarini Parti White House correspondent, effective immediately. She replaces Adrian Carrasquillo, who was let go from the outlet in November for inappropriate behavior. Parti has been with Buzzfeed since 2015 and most recently served as politics reporter. Prior to that, she covered money and politics for POLITICO.

Charles Ornstein has been promoted to senior editor at ProPublica, a newly created role where he will oversee the outlet’s Local Reporting Network. Ornstein most recently served as senior reporter for ProPublica, and has been with the outlet since 2008. He has also worked for the Los Angeles Times and the Dallas Morning News.

CBS News political director Steve Chaggaris is no longer with the outlet, following allegations of inappropriate behavior. Chaggaris has been with the network since 2012, when he joined as executive editor. Prior to that, he was en executive producer for Yahoo!.

CisionBlog regrets to inform its readers that Shawn Perine, the VP and editorial director of the AMI Fitness Group has passed away; he was 51. Perine was a life long fitness journalist who spent almost four decades in the filed, including editor in chief and chief content director for Muscle & Fitness, Muscle & Fitness Hers, FLEX and Men’s Fitness magazines.

Longtime reporter/anchor Tom Mustin is no longer with KCNC-TV, the CBS affiliate in Denver. Mustin had been with the station for 15 years and has worked on the morning show since 2014. He has previously reported for WXLV-TV in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
