CisionScoop: April Bernard is the new executive editor of TV Guide Magazine. She previously worked at Us Weekly holding a number of editorial positions since 2005. Her most recent title with them was Deputy Editor, and she departed the magazine in April 2017.
CisionScoop: Business Insider says goodbye to senior innovation reporter Chris Weller. He will be joining the global research organization NeuroLeadership Institute as senior science editor. He had worked at Business Insider as a reporter since 2015, and previously served as a reporter for Medical Daily.
The Wall Street Journal has named Charles Forelle as financial editor. He has been with The WSJ since 2002 and most recently held the position of Europe finance editor while based in London. He will be relocating to New York.
SportsCenter anchor Cari Champion has been named the new co-host of SportsNation on ESPN, effective March 12. She replaces longtime host Michelle Beadle. She has been an Anchor with SportsCenter since 2016 and was previously the host of ESPN2’s First Take.
Vox has launched a new daily podcast Today, Explained with host Sean Rameswaram. The podcast will take a close look at the most important stories of the day and help listeners understand the biggest events happening in the world and launched on February 19.
Glamour has had a number of layoffs, including some of their editorial staff:
- Sex and relationships editor Cady Drell has parted ways with the magazine. Prior to working with Glamour, she worked with Newsweek as culture editor and DigBoston as arts & entertainment editor.
- Deputy fashion directer Sasha Inglehard has also departed the outlet. She had worked with Glamour since 2001. Prior to that she served as fashion market director at Harper’s Bazaar.
Debby Wu has joined Bloomberg Technology as a reporter where she will be covering Taiwan technology. She’s comes to Bloomberg after serving as chief Taiwan correspondent for Nikkei Asian Review, where she had worked since 2014.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch welcomes Brian Feldt as a new business reporter. Feldt will be covering breaking business news as well as covering beer and retail news. He joins the Post-Dispatch from the St. Louis Business Journal where he served as senior reporter. He has also worked with Patch.com as an associate regional editor and with the Statehouse News Journal-Register as a statehouse news reporter. h/t Talking Biz News
Noel Ramos has been promoted to assistant news director at Telemundo Houston. He has worked with Telemundo in Puerto Rico, Miami, and Chicago before joining as a news producer in Houston in 2016.
