CisionScoop: Runner’s World welcomes a new associate health and fitness editor, Danielle Zickl. She will oversee personal health and wellness as well as fitness and exercise for the magazine. Zickl was most recently the online assistant editor at Men’s Health, and prior to that served as an editorial intern for Bicycling Magazine.
CisionScoop: Curtis Franklin has moved to serve as senior editor of Dark Reading. He oversees cyber security in enterprise, while also freelancing for the CF2 group since 2006. Franklin was previously the security editor for Light Reading, and prior to that served as executive editor for Information Week for two years.
Mary York has been promoted to editor of the East County Californian in El Cajon, California, effective Feb. 23; she succeeds Albert Fulcher. York joined the staff in 2015 as a reporter and has since covered high school and college sports. She also recently received awards for her work as a sportswriter and photographer from multiple San Diego journalism associations.
The Wall Street Journal‘s Houston deputy energy editor Lynn J. Cook has been promoted to the management bureau chief position. She will now cover workplace trends and corporate management. She has been with WSJ since 2013. h/t TalkingBizNews
Elizabeth Williamson is the new features writer for The New York Times out of the paper’s Washington, D.C., bureau; she covers national politics in the era of Trump. Williamson was previously an editorial writer for NYT, and joined the staff in 2015. Prior to that, she spent eight years as a special projects writer for The Wall Street Journal.
The Washington Post has hired Marissa J. Lang as breaking news reporter on the local news desk, effective March 12. She left the San Francisco Chronicle after nearly three years as a tech culture reporter, and was previously a metro reporter for the Sacramento Bee.
Goop, the website dedicated to informing and positively inspiring its audience, has launched Goop Podcast , hosted by Elise Loehnen and Gwenyth Paltrow. This podcast features interviews and profiles of famous people. It broadcasts out of Santa Monica, California and airs weekly on Thursdays.
The Palm Beach Post has said farewell to Tom Peeling. He has retired after 33 years with the paper, and has served as the assistant community editor overseeing suburban news since 1985. Prior to that, he reported for The Pocono Record in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.
Leah Scully has left Hydraulics and Pneumatics magazine. She served as the associate content producer since January 2015.
AZ Food & Wine has hired Laura Stoddard as editor in chief. She oversees Arizona food, restaurants, events and all beer/wine/spirits coverage. Stoddard was previously a freelancer writer, and also has reported for Highroads Magazine.
WAWZ-FM, New York’s 99.1 FM Contemporary Christian Radio Station says goodbye to Sharon Davis. Davis is retiring after six years as an evening on-air host, and has worked with WWCD and WWDJ in Hackensack, New Jersey.
