CisionScoop: After a decade with NPR, Marilyn Geewax has retired from the network. She most recently served as senior business editor for the national desk and additionally worked as an economics correspondent. Prior to joining NPR, Geewax was national economics correspondent at Cox Newspapers.
CisionScoop: New York Times features writer Julie Creswell has changed coverage and now reports on food, beverages and consumer products. Creswell has been with the paper for more than a decade and most recently covered business. She joined the staff as a banking reporter.
Terrence Burke has left CNN‘s New York bureau after more than five years with the network. He served as senior vice president of national news, overseeing CNN’s national news desk and regional bureaus. He originally joined the organization in 1999.
The Washington Post has welcomed Megan McArdle, who joined the staff March 1 as opinions columnist, focusing on economics, business and public policy. She comes from Bloomberg View, where she spent the last five years as a columnist. She has also worked for Newsweek and The Atlantic.
Former deputy editor of Vanity Fair, Stephanie Mehta, is headed to Fast Company as editor in chief, effective March 5. She previously spent two years at Vanity Fair, and prior to that worked at BloombergLIVE and Fortune.
POLITICO Pro welcomes two new staffers to the organization: Kyle Daly will now be the deputy tech editor, after two years at Bloomberg as a senior reporter and five reporting for SNL Financial. Also, Liz Crampton will be covering Agriculture policy as the newest agriculture reporter. She comes from Bloomberg BNA where she was a reporter for almost two years.
Bloomberg has promoted business news editor, Stacie Sherman, to New Jersey bureau chief. She will now oversee the Princeton and Trenton news staff, covering the state’s government and finance news. Sherman has been with Bloomberg since 1997. h/t Talking Biz News
Barron’s has said goodbye to longtime senior opinion editor and columnist Steve Sears, who spent more than a decade at the outlet. Sears was responsible for The Striking Price and Striking Price Daily columns. h/t Talking Biz News
Next Avenue announces Your Next Avenue, a brand new podcast covering personal finance and careers. It will be hosted by Richard Eisenberg, who has been the managing editor, as well as money & work channels editor for Next Avenue since 2012.
