Cision’s research department makes over 20,000 media updates to our influencer database each day! Here are the latest moves to keep your media lists up to date and on point. CisionScoop: Jill Cornfield has been hired as personal finance reporter for CNBC Online. She was previously a news reporter for Bankrate for two years, where she created and wrote the Wealth Builder channel. Prior to that, she worked for Asset International as editor and senior editor. 

CNN has added two reporters to its New York bureau:

  • Mark Morales joined the network as a reporter covering law enforcement. He comes from Newsday, where he covered crime on Long Island. He previously reported on law enforcement for The Wall Street Journal. 
  • Erica Orden joined CNN as a reporter covering the special counsel investigation and law enforcement. She was also previously a reporter for WSJ since 2010, and most recently covered the investigation for the paper. 

Edmund Lee has joined The New York Times as a reporter covering corporate media for the Business Day section.  Lee previously served as the managing editor for Re/code for four years. Prior to that, he spent three years reporting on the media for Bloomberg News. NYT has also welcomed Erin Griffith as a reporter in San Francisco covering start-ups and venture capital. She was previously a senior writer for Wired, and has also reported for Fortune.

The Des Moines Register has promoted two reporters: 

  • Brianne Pfannenstiel has been upped to chief politics reporter, succeeding Jason Noble. She will cover Iowa state politics, including the 2018 governor's race, 2018 congressional midterms and Iowa presidential caucuses. Pfannenstiel was previously a reporter for the paper covering the Statehouse since 2015. 
  • The Register has also named Courtney Crowder Iowa columnist, upped from social issues reporter. She has been with the paper since 2015. 

Anjali Khosla has left Fast Company after six years at the magazine. She most recently served as the digital editor, and joined the staff in 2012 as senior editor.  She is now an assistant professor of journalism and design at The New School. 

NBC Sports Boston has hired Danielle Trotta as co-host of Boston Sports Tonight. She most recently covered the auto-racing industry for Sirus XM, and also served as co-host of NASCAR Race Hub and NASCAR Raceday Pre-race show on Fox Sports. 

Lisa Chavarria has joined WMAQ-TV, the NBC affiliate in Chicago, as reporter. She was previously a reporter at WFLD-TV in Chicago for five years, and has also reported for KHOU-TV in Houston and NewsChannel 5 Network in Nashville. 

KYW-TV, CBS affiliate in Philadelphia, has brought on Matthew Petrillo, who returned to his hometown as a freelance reporter. He was previously a reporter for WKMG-TV in Orlando, and has also worked for WBTW-TV in Florence, South Carolina.
