Women's Wear Daily has promoted the following staff:

  • Kathryn Hopkins has been named senior financial editor, upped from residential real estate editor. She has also been a contributing editor for Variety since 2017.
  • Maxine Wally is the outlet's new eye reporter. She most recently served as copy editor for WWD, a position she's held since she joined the outlet in 2014.
  • Martino Carrera has been named Milan-based reporter covering designers and celebrities. He joined WWD as an editorial intern in 2017.

Silvia Killingsworth has joined Bloomberg Businessweek as digital editor, effective June 18. She most recently served as editor at The Awl and The Hairpin, and previously spent three years as managing editor at The New Yorker.

The Robb Report has tapped Paul Croughton as editor in chief. He succeeds Brett Anderson, who left the publication at the end of March after 17 years. Croughton is the founding editor of Robb Report's U.K. edition, and has relocated from London to New York. He has previously worked in various roles at The Sunday Times of London.

Marisa Porto is the new executive editor at The Virginian-Pilot, replacing Steve Gunn, who has left the paper. In addition to her new role, she will continue to serve as editor in chief and publisher of sister publications Daily Press  and The Virginia Gazette. Porto has been with Tronc since 2009.

The Seattle Times will welcome Joy Resmovits in July as education lab editor. She is currently an education editor and reporter for the Los Angeles Times, a position she has held since joining the daily in 2015. Resmovits has also previously covered the education beat for HuffPost for four years.

Following the Boston Review's decision to retain Junot Diaz despite allegations of sexual misconduct, three poetry editors have resigned from the literary magazine:

  • B.K. Fischer, an award-winning editor who has been with the outlet since 2012. She also teaches at the Hudson Valley Writers’ Center.
  • Stefania Heim, poetry editor, and the author of A Table That Goes On for Miles.
  • Timonthy Donnelly, who has worked at the magazine for more than 20 years and joined the staff in 1996.

Mike Dello Stritto has joined CBS's KOVR-TV in Sacramento, California as news director, effective June 27. He was previously the news director of KTNV-TV in Las Vegas, and prior to that spent a year at KPIX-TV  in San Francisco as managing editor.

WKRC-TV, the CBS affiliate in Cincinnati, Ohio, has brought on Kyle Inskeep as weeknight anchor, effective June 18. He co-anchors the 4pm and 5:30pm newscasts alongside Paula Toti, and the 10pm Local 12 news on sister station WSTR-TV. He previously worked as a weekday morning reporter and anchor for WXIN-WTTV in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The Big Listen, WAMU-FM's show introducing listeners to podcasts and inside scoop on already popular shows, has ended. It has been replaced by syndicated NPR programming, in particular It's Been a Minute on Fridays, 10-11pm effective June 29, and All Things Considered for Sundays 6-7pm, effective July 1.

Longtime Chicago sports beat writer Chris Kuc has joined NHL.com as correspondent  covering hockey and the Chicago Blackhawks. Kuc was a casualty of the March Chicago Tribune layoffs, when dozens of staffers lost their jobs. He had worked for the Tribune since 2007 in a variety of positions.
