Rebecca Rainey has joined PoliticoPro in Washington, D.C., as a reporter covering labor and immigration. She also writes the MorningShift newsletter. Rainey comes from Inside Washington Publishers, and before that from Capital News Service where she worked as an investigative news reporter.
POLITICO in Washington, D.C., has welcomed Ryan McCrimmon as a reporter and newsletter writer covering agriculture and food policy. He previously spent three years at CQ News as a reporter covering taxes and budgets. He has also written for the Texas Tribune and Medill News Service.
Cathy Bussewitz has switched jobs at the Associated Press and now covers energy and transportation out of New York. She was most recently a Statehouse reporter for the AP out of the Honolulu, Hawaii bureau. She has been with the news service since 2014, and before that had a brief stint at the Press Democrat. She also worked for the AP in 2009 and 2010.
Veteran New York Post sports reporter Fred Kerber has retired from the paper after 48 years in the business. He spent 28 years at the Post covering primarily basketball and the New York Knicks and New York Nets. Before that, he spent 16 years at the New York Daily News as a sport writer. His last day at the Post was Sept. 3.
The Dallas Business Journal has promoted Anna Butler to assistant managing editor. She joined the outlet in 2015 as associate editor, and before that spent two years at Andrew Harper, as managing web editor. She has also worked for Jesta Digital as marketing coordinator.
Adam Polonski has exited MarketWatch after five years with the outlet. He most recently served as a senior editor, and joined the staff in 2013 as assistant editor. Polonski will spent the upcoming months traveling the country, visiting distilleries, wineries, and national parks, and will continue to write on a freelancer basis.
After creating, executive producing and hosting "Two Way Street" on Georgia Public Broadcasting Radio for more than four years, Bill Nigut has left the program to solely focus on the his other GPB Radio show, "Political Rewind." Prior to GPB Radio, Nigut spent six years at the Anti-Defamation League as a regional director. He was also a political reporter at WSB-TV in Atlanta for more than two decades.
Telemundo has hired Javier Vega as political correspondent based in Washington, D.C. Vega was most recently a Mexico-based correspondent for Noticias Telemundo. He started his career at Televisa Puebla, and later joined Milenio, a national media outlet in Mexico, where he covered Congress and the Senate, the State Department and the President.
Denise McManus has been named vice president and station manager for KUSI-TV in San Diego, California. She was previously the station manager for Fox-owned KMSB-TV/KTTU-TV in Tucson, Arizona, and before that worked as VP of sales for WTHR-TV in Ohio.
NBC's KCRA-TV in Sacramento, California has brought on Ty Steele as morning news anchor. He was previously at KTXL-TV, the FOX-affiliate in Sacramento, for three years. Before that, he was a news anchor at KMTR-TV in Oregon.
