The Associated Press has made a couple of moves in two of its bureaus:
- Michael Balsamo has moved from the Los Angeles bureau to the Washington, D.C. bureau to cover the Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and federal law enforcement as a reporter. He has been with the AP since 2014.
- Nicole Evatt has moved from the Los Angeles bureau to the Bangkok bureau to cover entertainment, fashion, breaking news and the Asia Pacific as a producer. She has been with the AP since 2006.
Salvador Rodriguez has joined CNBC online as a digital reporter, effective September 17. He focuses on technology and covers Facebook and other tech companies. Rodriguez was previously with Reuters as tech correspondent, and prior to that worked for Inc. magazine and International Business Times also covering technology.
CBS This Morning has hired Lete Childs is a producer based in the Washington, D.C. office. He comes from NBC News, where he spend the last decade as a producer. Before that, he worked for Discovery Communications, and PBS NewsHour.
Modern Luxury has promoted two longtime staffers to leadership positions at the company's Los Angeles division:
- Laura Eckstein has been named editor in chief of Angeleno magazine, upped from executive editor. She has been with Modern Luxury media since 2014, and also leads the staff of Modern Luxury Interiors California. Prior to that, she worked for Woman's Day and Good Housekeeping.
- Chris Gialanella has been named Los Angeles group publisher and will helm Angeleno, Los Angeles Confidential, Modern Luxury Interiors California, Modern Luxury Weddings California, Modern Luxury BH, and Modern Luxury Orange County. He has been with the company since 2000, and joined the staff as adverting director.
Cristina Mendonsa has joined KFBK-FM radio in Sacramento, California as host on The Morning News, effective Aug 27. She replaced Amy Lewis, who exited the station after decades on the morning slot post. Mendonsa has been a contributor to KFBK, and previously spent tow decades at KXTV-TV in Sacramento.
Avery J.C. Kleinman has switched jobs at WAMU-FM radio, and is now a producer for 1A. She was previously a producer for The Kojo Nnamndi Show. 1A is produced by WAMU in Washington, D.C., and syndicated by NPR to more than 300 stations across the U.S. It explores important issues such as policy, politics, technology, and what connects us across the fissures that divide the country.
