Ryan Vlastelica has joined Bloomberg News as equities reporter, focusing on the technology, media and telecom industries. He was previously a reporter for Market Watch for two years, and covered the stock market and ETFs. Before that, he contributed to The Onion A. V. Club. Vlastelica also spent eight years at Reuters, writing daily reports about public companies and the overall stock market.
"The Argument" is a new, weekly podcast debuted by The New York Times that focuses on a political opinion explained from each side of the political spectrum. The pod allows the audience to decide where they stand and how to persuade the opposition. Alex Laughlin is the pod's producer. He comes from BuzzFeed's now-disbanded “Pod Squad” team, where he spent a year as an audio producer.
NBC News White House correspondent, Peter Alexander, has been named co-anchor of the network's Weekend Today show appearing Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Alexander has been with NBC News since 2004, and before that had brief stints as a reporter for KHQ-TV in Spokane, Washington, and WKYT-TV in Lexington, Kentucky.
Adam Shapiro has joined Yahoo! Finance as an anchor. He comes from Fox Business Network, where he has been on staff since 2007. Before that he spent a year reporting for WNBC-TV in New York, and prior to that spent eight years at WEWS-TV in Cleveland, Ohio.
InnovationMap is a new digital news source covering innovation news in the tech, health, energy,startup, money, social impact, and lifestyle industries. Natalie Harms, former associate editor of the Houston Business Journal, has joined the new site as editor. She had been with the Business Journal since 2015, and also co-created and runs the Houston lifestyle blog, It’s Not Hou It’s Me, where she writes about food, exercise, life, travel and more.
SB Nation, the website covering sports across the United States, has promoted two of its staff:
- Chris Greenberg is now managing editor of the website, upped from deputy editor. He has been with SB Nation since 2017, and before that served as a senior sports editor for Boston.com.
- Dayana Sarkisova is now deputy editor, covering the NFL. She was previously the deputy engagement editor for the site, a position she has held since 2016. Before that, Sarkisova worked as a senior editor for Pro Football Focus, and an assistant editor for ESPN.
Karla Partilla has been promoted to VP and publisher of Rachael Ray Every Day, in addition to her role as VP and publisher of All Recipes. Partilla has been with Meredith Corp. since early 2018, and before that spent four years at LiveIntent, Inc., and ten years before that at Time Inc. as publisher of Cooking Light print and digital, and AllRecipes.com.
Senior vice president and general manager of Entravision TV stations KORO/KCRP in Corpus Christi, Texas, Anita Saenz-Carvalho, has left the stations to join the Texas Association of Broadcasters Board of Directors. She was promoted in January 2011 to VP/GM of the Corpus Christi television cluster, and has been with the stations since 1999.
