Keith C. Burris has been named executive editor of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. He replaces David Shribman, a Pulitzer Prize winner, who left the paper in late 2018 after serving as executive editor since 2003. Burris was named editorial director in March 2018 and directed the Post-Gazette’s opinion page. He will also serve as the executive editor of sister publication The Blade, where he used to be the longtime editorial director. Burris will retain his current job as editorial director of the Post-Gazette and the Toledo Blade.
NPR's White House correspondent Scott Horsley will join the Business Desk as chief economics correspondent, effective March 18. He is currently wrapping up his duties on the Washington/Politics desk, where he has been since 2008. Horsley had already done a couple of stints on the Business Desk between 2001 and 2007.
Cheddar, the business news channel broadcasting from the New York Stock Exchange, has announced that it will add an interview series titled "Slice," which will run Wednesdays on Cheddar Business morning show Opening Bell from 8–10 a.m. ET. Former Bloomberg Television anchor Betty Liu will interview business leaders and discuss how they are transforming their companies and industries.
Ilyse Liffreing has joined AdAge as a reporter and social media editor. She comes from Digiday, where she spent the last two years reporting in-depth features about brands and agencies as they keep pace in the evolving digital marketing and media space, with a focus on ad spend, agency culture, Amazon and brands moving marketing in-house. Prior to that, she worked for Campaign US as platforms reporter and wrote daily stories on social platforms, digital campaigns and fake news.
E&E News has recruited Timothy Cama as a reporter covering lobbying and campaigns. He was previously with The Hill, where he served as energy and environment reporter for five years. Before that he spent five years at Transport Topics, as a staff writer and as web editor.
Jonathan Capriel has joined the Washington Business Journal as a reporter covering the new Amazon growth-related beat. He was previously a data and metro reporter at the Tampa Bay Times for two years, and before that had internships at The Baltimore Sun, Scripps Howard Foundation Wire and The Commercial Appeal in Memphis.
Spectrum News in Los Angeles has partnered with the Los Angeles Times to produce the prime-time, one-hour news magazine "L.A. Times Today." The show airs daily Monday through Thursday at 7 and 10 p.m., and takes an in-depth look at the day’s top stories. It covers news, politics, business, entertainment and sports, and will feature interviews with and stories by Times journalists. Veteran local newscaster and former co-anchor of ABC’s “Good Morning America," Lisa McRee, is the host.
Ted Woods has been brought on as a producer of the "Cantore Show" at Tegna's adult hits rock station KFMB-FM in San Diego, California. Woods previously spent ten years at Westwood One Podcast Network, most recently as a director of production.
