Corina Knoll has joined The New York Times as a Metro reporter based in the Los Angeles bureau. She previously spent more than a decade at The Los Angeles Times, mostly on local coverage, features and breaking news. Knoll was on the team that investigated corruption in Bell, California, coverage that won the 2011 Pulitzer Prize for public service. Before the Los Angeles Times, she worked for six years at KoreAm Journal, a magazine in California about the Korean-American experience.
The Washington Post has made several staff moves, including an addition to the Business Desk, and a columnist and an editor on the Opinions team:
- Robbie DiMesio will join The Post Feb. 19 as an assignment editor on the Business Desk overseeing the department's breaking news and general assignments. She spent the last five years at The Oregonian as a managing producer on the digital products.
- Henry A. Olsen has joined the Opinions team as a columnist Feb. 11, covering politics, populism, foreign affairs and conservatism. He is also a senior fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center in Washington, D.C., studying and providing analysis on American politics.
- Mili Mitra has joined The Post as a global opinions editor. She first came to The Post as an editorial board summer intern in 2017, returned as an intern the following summer, and eventually got hired as a digital producer.
Former Arizona senator Jeff Flake has joined CBS This Morning as a contributor. He will contribute to a new series for CBS News named Common Ground -- stories meant to shine a light on opposing groups coming together. Flake left the senate in January.
ALM has announced the appointment of Mark Bauer as Texas bureau chief, overseeing Texas Lawyer. He succeeds Heather Nevitt, who, after six years as editor in chief of Texas Lawyer, is taking on a broader role within ALM's coverage of the in-house legal community. Bauer was most recently the managing editor of National Law Journal and Texas Lawyer, and has been with ALM since November 2017.
Alex Robert Ross has joined The Fader as an associate editor. He was most recently a contributing editor for Vice Media's Noisey, and his work has also appeared at Deadspin, Slate, The Quietus, Huck Magazine, and The Portland Mercury. The Fader offers cutting-edge editorial on global music, art, film, fashion and technology.
iHeartMedia's WYGM-AM sports radio in Orlando has launched a new afternoon show, “In the Zone with Brandon Kravitz and The Shot Doctor," effective Feb. 11. It will deliver the latest breaking news and engage listeners with humor and informative sports talk. The new show replaces "The Finish Line With Jerry O’Neill And The Shot Doctor” in the 3-6pm time slot. It is led by Brandon Kravitz, who is also the pre/post game host for the Orlando Magic.
Tricia ‘TJ’ Jenkins has joined Cumulus Media’s "Ty Bentli Show" in Nashville, Tennessee, as a co-host. She was most recently a weekend/fill-in host at iHeartMedia Country KEEY-FM in Minneapolis, and a midday personality and music director at KMNB-FM.
