Viveca Novak has been named justice and judiciary editor at The Wall Street Journal, and will be based in Washington, D.C. She was most recently the investigative editor in McClatchy’s Washington Bureau, and before that spent six years at the Center for Responsive Politics as an editorial and communications director.
The Washington Post has announced the formation of a team of reporters focused on immigration as part of the America desk. The following staff has moved to the new team led by Americas editor Josh White:
Kytja Weir has joined Kaiser Health News as national editor, where she’ll oversee growing regional bureaus.She was previously a state politics editor at the Center for Public Integrity, and is also a longtime freelance reporter whose work has been published in The Boston Globe, The New York Times, Newsday, The San Diego Union-Tribune, St. Paul Pioneer Press, National Journal, among others.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel has promoted James Nelson to business editor overseeing all business and finance coverage of the paper. Nelson spent the last 15 years on the Business desk as deputy business editor. He started with the Milwaukee Sentinel in 1985 as local, state government and business reporter, and became a metro editor after the 1995 merger of the Sentinel and Milwaukee Journal. Succeeding Nelson as deputy business editor is Jen Steele, who has been with the business news department for the last two years, and previously worked on the Journal Sentinel’s copy/production desk.
Blake McCoy will join WTTG-TV, the Fox-owned station in Washington, D.C., March 18 as an anchor and reporter. He is a former NBC News correspondent out of Chicago, and before that served as an anchor and reporter for KARE-TV in Minneapolis and KTNV-TV in Las Vegas.
ABC's WKRN-TV in Nashville, Tennessee, has promoted Josh Breslow to breaking news anchor, upped from weekend morning anchor at the station. He has been with the station since 2016 and joined the staff from WDRB-TV in Louisville, Kentucky.
