Anneken Tappe has joined CNN Business April 8 as a senior writer covering markets in New York. She comes from MarketWatch, where she covered European markets and bonds. Before that, Tappe worked at DebtWire as a senior reporter, and Incisive Media as a data journalist.
New York Media has promoted Dee Lockett to music editor for Vulture, New York magazine’s entertainment site. She most recently served as associate editor for Vulture and has been on staff since 2015. Prior to that, she spent a year at Slate as editorial assistant where she wrote for the culture section, including the Brow Beat blog and Culturebox.
Bloomberg News reporter Reade Pickert has joined the Washington bureau as a reporter covering the economy. She was most recently located in New York and reported on wealth and cross-asset content. Picker has been with Bloomberg since 2018 and previously interned at the news service.
John Cook will join Business Insider as investigations editor on May 6. He is a veteran reporter and editor who has served as executive editor of Gawker Media, editor in chief of The Intercept, and founder of Gizmodo Media Group’s investigations team, the Special Projects Desk.
Civil Eats, the daily news site about the American food system, has hired two senior reporters:
· Nadra Nittle has joined the staff as a senior reporter based in Los Angeles. She was most recently a reporter for The Goods by Vox and has also been on staff at the now-defunct website Racked. She has also freelanced for a variety of outlets, including The Atlantic, ThinkProgress, and About.com.
· Gosia Wozniacka has joined the team as a senior reporter based in Portland, Oregon. She spent the last five years as a reporter for the Associated Press in Fresno, California, and then in Portland, Oregon. She has also covered immigration and Latino affairs for The Oregonian
Suzette Parmley is the new Trenton correspondent for the New Jersey Law Journal covering the New Jersey Supreme Court, New Jersey legislature and business of law. She previously spent 15 years on the business desk at the Philadelphia Inquirer, and also worked the paper as its Trento statehouse correspondent.
GeekWire has promoted Taylor Soper to managing editor, a newly created role. He oversees the Seattle and Pacific Northwest startup coverage. He joined the site in 2012 as reporter from The Seattle Times, where he worked as sports news assistant.
Cameron Moore, the music director and midday talent at Beasley Media Group’s WNKS-FM radio in Charlotte, has added music director duties at sister station WSOC-FM country radio. She has been with WNKS since 2017 and before that spent a couple of years at Midwest Family Broadcasting in Springfield, Missouri.
WLLD-FM radio in Saint Petersburg, Florida, has tapped Shandra “Babs” Littleton as a midday talent. She replaces Kenzie K who exited the station in February. Littleton was most recently the morning co-host at WXKB-FM in Fort Myers, Florida, where she began her career as an intern nine years ago.
