Tiffany Reid has been named style director for the Hearst Women's Fashion Group, which includes Cosmopolitan, Elle, Marie Claire, Women's Health and Harper's Bazaar. She was previously the senior fashion editor for Cosmopolitan and Seventeen and joined Hearst in 2015. Before that, she was the fashion market editor at Allure and began her fashion journalism career in 2011 at InStyle.
The New York Times has announced a couple of staff additions, one for Opinions and one at its Mexico City bureau:
· Gina Cherelus has joined the Opinion desk as an editorial assistant. She was most recently a general news reporter for Reuters and covered breaking news, crime, and natural disasters.
· Longtime video journalist Brent McDonald will move to The New York Times Mexico City bureau in June as a senior video correspondent covering Latin America. He has been with the paper since 2005 and before that worked for PBS Frontline/World as an associate producer.
After five years as a general assignment reporter, Sarah Larimer has moved to the Washington Post sports desk as an editor. In her new role, she is responsible for shaping and editing the evening sports reporting. Larimer has joined The Post in 2014 after reporting and editing stints with the AP in Miami, TBF.com and ESPN’s Grantland.
The Wall Street Journal digital team has announced the following staff additions:
· Christina Vallice is the new senior executive producer for news and specials on WSJ’s video team. She comes from Vice News, where she spent the last three years as a supervising producer. Before that, she was with NBC Nightly News for six years.
· Kerry Barger has joined the paper as the digital editor of the Mansion section. She was previously with The Real Deal, most recently as the digital editor.
Blayne Alexander has joined NBC News as a correspondent based in Atlanta, reporting across all NBC News and MSNBC platforms. She was previously a Washington correspondent for NBC News Chanel and covered major news stories like the Kavanaugh hearings, the Mueller report, the midterms and the Congressional baseball shooting. Alexander has previously worked in Atlanta as an anchor and reporter for NBC’s WXIA-TV.
Industry Drive has recruited Dana Elfin as a senior editor for the MedTechDrive and HealthCareDrive verticals. She comes from Bloomberg where she worked for the last 23 years, most recently as senior legal reporter for Bloomberg Law. Before that, she was a senior legal editor/reporter for Bloomberg BNA in the health care field covering legal and regulatory issues in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries.
Greg Bartalos has joined Institutional Investor and will take over as editor in chief of RIA Intel, a new digital journalism brand to launch under the Institutional Investor umbrella in June. The editorial team for RIA Intel will work closely with the team running the RIA Institute, Institutional Investor’s event series for RIAs and their partners. Bartalos comes from Royal Media where he served as editorial director, and before that he was the editor in chief of Barrons.com for a decade.
VICE has hired Daniel Newhauser as senior political reporter covering Capitol Hill and the 2020 presidential campaign out of Washington, D.C. He spent the last five years as a correspondent for the National Journal, and before that worked for Roll Call and Congressional Quarterly.
