Jacques van Wersch has been promoted to Asia chief editor for Dow Jones Newswires in Singapore and Hong Kong. He was most recently the managing editor for operations at the newswires and has been on staff since 2008. Prior to that, he was a senior editor for the Taiwan Review for less than a year.
Ladders, the workplace news site, has added two to its editorial staff:
· Kiran Aditham has been appointed newsletter editor and manages the distribution and editorial content of the daily newsletter. He comes from Trust Collective, where he spent the last four years as director of content. Before that, he was a writer and editor for Mediabistro.
· Jennifer Fabiano has joined the staff as SEO writer. She was most recently an entertainment and pop culture writer for Minute Media, and before that worked for AccuWeather and Česká Televise in the Czech Republic.
Ramy Inocencio is the new correspondent for CBS News out of Beijing. He was previously an anchor/correspondent at Bloomberg Television in New York for “Bloomberg Daybreak: Asia.” Inocencia is a veteran reporter and has covered international news stories Asia, America and Europe for two decades, and has also worked for The Wall Street Journal and CNN.
The Wall Street Journal in Washington, D.C., has shifted reporter Ryan Tracy’s beats and now covers technology policy. He was previously on the bank regulation beats and wrote stories explaining and investigating actions by the Federal Reserve Board, Treasure Department, Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., and other agencies. Tracy joined The Journal in 2010 from Newsweek.
Lisa Benson has been named publisher of Louisville Business First, effective July 1. She is currently the editor of the publication and has been at the helm since 2015. Previously, she was the managing editor for the Cincinnati Business Courier, a sister paper of Business First. She joined the Courier in 1999 and held numerous positions, including associate editor, web editor and research director.
ABC News and The Atlantic have brought on former Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel as paid contributor. He has also appeared on ABC’s “This Week with George Staphanopoulos” and is also expected to serve as a political analyst for “Good Morning America.” Emanuel will contribute to the Ideas section of The Atlantic, a place where he’d already written a dozen essays for as a mayor.
Britain Eakin has joined Law360 as a reporter covering intellectual property. She comes from the Courthouse News Service where she was a reporter covering civil cases in the U.S. District Court, the Supreme Court, congressional hearings and the Guantánamo Bay detention center since 2015. Before that she was a data editor for Arizona Sonora News.
KPRC-TV, the NBC affiliate in Houston, has hired Bill Barajas as a reporter; he starts on June 17. He has been at KSAT-TV in San Antonio, Texas, for six years. Prior to that, he worked at KRGV in the Rio Grande Valley.
Paul ‘Cubby’ Bryant has moved from mornings at WKTU-FM in New York to WLTW-FM, effective May 28. He joined co-host Christine Nagy for “Cubby & Christine In The Morning”. He has been with iHeartMedia New York since 1996 when he joined WHTZ as afternoon host. He moved to WKTU in 2006 as co-host of the nationally syndicated “Wakeup With Whoopi” alongside Whoopi Goldberg.
