Vogue magazine has hired Julie Tong as commerce editor. She previously spent four years at Yahoo!, most recently as the fashion editor. Prior to that, she was the fashion assistant at Interview Magazine and a public relations assistant for Karla Otto PR.

Nina Trentmann is the newly minted news editor for The Wall Street Journal's CFO Journal, covering CFO news and corporate finance. She comes from a three-year stint at CFO Journal in London, where she also served as a news editor. Prior to that, she spent five years at the U.K.-based WeltN24 GmbH as a business and finance reporter.

Reuters has recruited veteran journalist Heather Timmons as economics editor. She will join the Washington, D.C., bureau on Aug. 26. Timmons is currently the White House correspondent for Quartz, a position she has held for four years. She joined Quartz in 2013 from The New York Times, where she spent several years as a London correspondent and head of India Ink after that.

Leah Rosenbaum has joined Forbes magazine as assistant editor of healthcare. She was most recently an intern at Science News, where she reported breaking science news online and for the print magazine. In 2017 she was honored with the Randy Shilts Memorial Award for Exceptional Reporting from UC Berkeley.

CNBC has announced the following promotions at its show “Squawk Box:”

·         Katie Kramer has been promoted to senior producer of “Squawk Box” and will continue to handle the all-important guest bookings, and detailed planning of Squawk’s high-profile remote guests. In addition, she will help incorporate a new set and graphics package into the show’s presentation. Kramer has been with CNBC since 2007 and most recently served as talent producer for “On the Money” and “Squawk Box.”  

·         David Evans has been promoted to senior producer and will work alongside Kramer and help incorporate a new set and graphics package into the show’s presentation. He was most recently a line producer at CNBC and has been with the network since 2010.

Richard Procter is the new editor in chief of SF Weekly. He was most recently a special projects editor for San Francisco Business Times, a position he had held for three years. Procter was also a freelance writer and his work has appeared in Decades magazine, JustPressPlay.net, and IndieLoot.com. From 2015 until 2016 he was a Forbes contributor and wrote about the business of esports.

Charlotte Agenda has tapped Katherine Peralta as senior editor; she starts July 29. Peralta comes from the Charlotte Observer where she spent the last three years as a business reporter covering retail. Before that, she spent a year as a reporter at U.S. News & World Report. Charlotte Agenda covers news and events in Charlotte, North Carolina, and discusses everything from food, music and art, to transportation, history, fitness and more.

Carlos Suarez has joined NBC’s WTVJ-TV in Miami as a weekend anchor and reporter, replacing Dan Grossman who has shifted to reporting during the week. Suarez was previously a reporter and anchor at WPLG-TV in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and before that spent two years reporting for WINK-TV in Ft. Myers, Florida.  

Jing Daily, the U.S. based blog covering business, luxury and culture in China, has welcomed Enrique Menendez as editor in chief. He was most recently a senior features editor at Hyperbeast and before that worked for Elsewhere Magazine as managing director and at Business of Fashion as part of the editorial team.
