Adam Sternbergh has re-joined the team of The New York Times Magazine as a senior editor, effective Aug. 5. His focus is on special sections. Sternbergh was the culture editor at the magazine from 2011 to 2014. He’s a former editor at large and culture editor at New York magazine.
IndieWire has announced new film and TV hires in Los Angeles:
· Chris Lindahl has joined as a film business reporter covering the film industry and film festivals out of Los Angeles. He was most recently a general assignment reporter at the Southern California News Group, where he reported on topics ranging from homelessness to immigration issues and marijuana policy.
· Ryan Lattanzio is the new weekend editor covering the film, television, and entertainment industries out of Los Angeles. He previously spent four years as editor of communications at the American Film Institute. Prior to that, he served as staff writer/editor for the IW blog Thompson on Hollywood, covering film festivals including Cannes, Toronto, and Sundance.
· Leonardo Adrian Garcia has joined the site as creative producer, a new role focused on developing original video content, podcasts, and event coverage. Garcia previously served as creative director of Onion Inc., where he managed the editorial video slates of The Onion, ClickHole, and The A.V. Club.
The Wall Street Journal in Chicago has welcomed back Ben Kesling as a correspondent. He covers the Midwest, veterans’ issues and domestic national security topics. He was most recently a reporter at The Journal’s Washington, D.C., bureau. Kesling has covered Chicago from 2012 through 2016.
Carrie Neuman is the new afternoon host at WTMD-FM radio in Baltimore, Maryland, and can be heard on-air weekdays from 3-7 p.m. beginning Aug. 15. She previously spent 15 years at WRNR-FM in Annapolis, Maryland.
WLXX-FM country radio in Lexington, Kentucky, has promoted Deidre Ransdell to program director, upped from midday host. She succeeds Roger McCoy, who exited the station in July. Ransell joined the station in 2001 as a member of its morning show, later moved to afternoon drive and then her current midday host position.
Olessa Stepanova has joined NBC’s WBTS-TV in Boston as a traffic reporter. Most recently, she was the traffic anchor for the EyeOpener at WCVB-TV in Boston for more than five years. She began her broadcasting career reporting traffic for News12 Traffic and Weather, covering Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Long Island and the Hudson Valley. She went on to News12 Long Island, where she covered traffic in studio and from Chopper12.
