Glamour has appointed Natasha Pearlman executive editor, succeeding Wendy Naugle who left in July. Pearlman was most recently a strategic brand consultant at Glamour UK and has previously served as editor in chief of Grazia UK, deputy director of Elle UK, and features editor at News of the World.
Supriya Batra has joined Bloomberg News in Hong Kong as digital news editor. She comes from the AFP where she was a fact check reporting intern since January 2019. Before that, Batra was a United Nations volunteer and wrote article on sustainable development issues for Iuventum, a non-governmental educational organization.
The Washington Post has announced two upcoming editorial additions:
- Nicole Dungca will join the paper Jan.13, 2020 as a reporter on the Investigative Unit’s long-term projects staff. She is currently wrapping up her duties as a Spotlight reporter at The Boston Globe, apposition she has held for almost three years. Before that, Dungca covered transportation for the Globe, and previously spent five years as an education reporter at the Oregonian.
- Dalton Bennett will step into a new role Dec 2. as a researcher on the Investigative Unit’s Rapid Response Team. This is a newly created position, and he will specialize in scouring open-source digital material, as well as work with journalists on every desk to deepen coverage by hunting for video, audio and photos. Bennett joined the Post in 2016 as a video reporter and before that spent six years at the Associated Press.
CBS Sports has recruited Justin Walters as a sideline reporter. Along this role, he will also join PIX11 News in New York in December. He will cover college football and college basketball and has most recently served as sports director and anchor for WRNN-TV in New Rochelle, New York.
Max Filby is the new health reporter for The Columbus Dispatch in Ohio. He comes from the Dayton Daily News, where he spent the last three years as a reporter covering higher education in Ohio and most recently, the military. Prior to that, Filby worked for The Courier as government and politics reporter.
KBOS-FM hip-hop radio in Fresno, California, has brought on Angel Jarquin as program director. He comes from sister station KDON-FM in Monterey Bay where he was the assistant PD and midday host. He stared his career as an interned for KYLD-FM in San Francisco and quickly rose to weekend host. Jarquin has also hosted for KMVQ in San Francisco.
Noah Maciejewski has been bumped to midday host at WKSE-FM radio in Buffalo, New York., and takes the 10 a.m.-2 p.m. slot that had been held by Premiere Networks’ “On-Air With Ryan Seacrest.” Maciejewski has served as a weekend and fill-in host at WKSE and sister alternative WLKK-FM since March 2017.
