The New York Times has announced a couple of new roles for staff in the Beijing bureau:
Graham Starr has joined Business Insider as a senior editor and oversee the technology industry focusing on business and technology including IPOs, mergers, and labor. He comes from The New York Times, where he spent the past year as a senior staff editor editing and covering breaking news, special reports, visual storytelling projects and business news. Before that, Starr worked for New York magazine as a special projects editor.
POLITICO has announced the addition of two editorial staff on the Policy and Technology teams:
Katishi Maake now covers hospitality, retail and sports business as a reporter for the Washington Business Journal. He spent the past year and a half largely writing general assignment stories with a focus on sports business, tied to the recent success of D.C.'s professional sports teams and the city's attempt to implement sports wagering. Maake joined the Business Journal in 2018 and before that interned at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
WKYC-TV, the NBC station in Cleveland, Ohio, has shifted Jay Crawford to an anchor on the upcoming new 5 p.m. news broadcast, set to launch early next year. He will anchor alongside Betsy Kling. Crawford is currently anchoring the midday news called “Lunch with Jay Crawford.”
