The Wall Street Journal has announced two new staff hires:

  • Kenny Wassus has joined the paper as a senior video journalist. He comes from New York Magazine where he worked more than three years, most recently as a features producer. Wassus also managed productions for Vulture, the Cut, as well as Daily Intelligencer.
  • Lindsay Huth has been promoted to a full-time role as an associate graphics reporter. She has been with the outlet as a graphics Intern since June 2019. Prior to that, Huth worked for Capital News Service as a graphics and data reporter where she analyzed and built interactive graphics, and data maps, as well as led web development of court records investigations.

The Washington Post has announced new coverage for two reporters:

  • Lyndsey Layton has become the deputy editor of the paper's climate and environment team. She has been with the paper since 1998 and has filled many roles, most recently as Metro politics editor for Virginia and the District. Prior to The Post, worked for the Patriot Ledger.
  • Will Englund has been named energy reporter of the Business section. He was most recently the fill-in bureau chief of the Moscow bureau and has been with the outlet since 2010, spending most of his years as a Moscow correspondent. Prior to that, Englund worked for the National Journal as a White House correspondent.

Bloomberg News  has reshuffled the beats for one of its reporters. Kelly Gilblom has relocated to the Los Angeles Bureau cover entertainment, a new beat.  For the past four years she has been based in London covering BP and Shell. Prior to joining Bloomberg, Gilblom worked for Reuters as an oil and gas reporter covering energy companies in East Africa.

Business Insider has promoted Amanda Perrelli to a full-time role as a reporter covering the business of influencers. Previously, she served as a media editorial fellow at Insider Inc. where she helped launch a weekly newsletter covering YouTube and Instagram influencers.

Ryan Houston has joined WPXI-TV, the NBC station in Pittsburgh, as an anchor/reporter. He comes from WCPO-TV, the Cincinnati ABC station, where he served as a news anchor for three years. Prior to that, he worked as a news anchor for the ABC station in Jackson, Mississippi.

KSAT-TV, the ABC station in San Antonio, has promoted Max Massey to weekend morning news co-anchor. He will anchor the "Good Morning San Antonio" show airing weekend mornings. He has been with the outlet for over four years. Prior to joining KSAT-TV, Massey served as news reporter for KOLN-TV/KGIN-TV in Lincoln, Nebraska.
