It’s that time of year again, time to reflect on the year past and plan for the year to come. Cision has produced tons of great, educational content this year that helps shape our industry. I wanted to not only highlight our top performing content but also include my personal favorites. See what you’ve missed and take this time to catch up on some reading!

  1. Cision's 2019 State of the Media Report

The report I look forward to each year. This year was our 10th annual edition and it unveiled some interested and eye-opening results.

  1. 2020 Content Calendar

One of my personal favorites. Managing our content calendar is part of my job and this year, our team went above and beyond to put together this slick, useful content calendar to help you plan your 2020 content (don’t forget to always add a little room for flexibility in there).

  1. What is Earned Media Management?

This is on my top list for one simple reason: It goes back to basics by understanding and defining what earned media management actually is and what a successful strategy looks like.

  1. 2019 Global Comms Report

Another great data-driven report that should be on your “must-read” list every year. Cision partnered with PRWeek to survey more than 500 senior-level PR and marketing professionals in seven countries to uncover recent shifts and advancements in communications.

  1. Grow your PR Presence for 2020

In my opinion, this is one of the most useful toolkits out there. We put together resources to help you plan your 2020 editorial calendar, craft better pitches and target the right journalists and influencers. A must-read!

  1. The Communicator’s Funnel

According to the Gartner Annual CMO Spend Survey 2019-2020, 76% of marketing leaders use data and analytics to drive key decisions. Why should PR be any different?

The Communicator's Funnel is a framework that helps PR pros prove the value of their work with real data. This guide outlines how to organize your communications goals to benefit the entire sales funnel, evaluate PR's contribution to the bottom line, and use data to guide your PR strategy.

  1. Choose Your Own PR Adventure

The brainchild of one of my super creative and talented colleagues, this great interactive content allows you to play through a digital PR adventure so that you are better prepared to play through a similar situation in real life!

  1. How to Write a Press Release in Four Easy Steps

Cision’s 2019 State of the Media Report found that 73% of journalists surveyed wanted to receive press releases from brands and comms professionals, ranking well ahead of other content types. To make sure you’re producing the best press releases possible, we’ve created a guide to hone your releases using four simple steps, thereby maximizing your chances of coverage.

If you enjoyed this list, great news: we have so much more great content to come in 2020. You can find all Cision content on our Resources page. Happy New Year!
