Reorg Research has hired Elana Dure as a reporter covering shareholder activism on the Mergers & Acquisitions team.  She was previously a data and financial reporter and senior financial reporter at Activist Insight, and before that interned at the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting and Tribune Publishing.

Elizabeth Koh will join The Wall Street Journal’s Seoul bureau in February to cover Samsung. She was most recently a state government reporter at the Miami Herald and Tampa Bay Times' shared Tallahassee bureau. Koh has also previously reported for McClatchy newspapers for two years.

The New York Times Metro team has welcomed back David Gonzalez as a visual reporter, a newly created role where he combines on-the-ground reporting and photography. He spent the last eight years at the The Times’s Lens blog as a o-editor, and during his long tenure at paper Gonzalez has also served as Bronx bureau chief, Metro religion reporter and About New York columnist.

MSI Information Services, the publisher of Library Journal and School Library Journal, has announced three top editorial staff promotions:

  • Rebecca T. Miller, editorial director and editor in chief of Library Journal and School Library Journal since 2013, has been elevated to group publisher of the two titles. She joined MSI Information Services in 1198 as the executive features editor of Library Journal.
  • Executive editor Kathy Ishizuka has been promoted to editor in chief of School Library Journal and will also serve as director for partnerships and innovation for both School Library Journal and Library Journal. She joined MSI in 2012.
  • Meredith Schwartz has been promoted to editor in chief of Library Journal after serving as its executive editor since 2015. She also continues to serve as the science and fantasy editor of the outlet.

WUOM-FM, Michigan’s public radio has welcomed April Baer as a co-host of “Stateside” alongside Cynthia Canty. Baer comes from Oregon Public Broadcasting where she spent the past five years as a host of “State of Wonder.” She had been with the station since 2004.  

Alex Finnie has been named weekend anchor at WPLG-TV, the ABC affiliate in Miami, alongside Andrew Perez. They will anchor the Saturday and Sunday 5, 6 and 11 broadcasts. Finnie has been with the stations since 2018 and before that worked at WIAT-TV in Birmingham, Alabama, as a general assignment reporter for three years.
