Media Moves US,
Business Insider has welcomed a new reporter and promoted two others:
Richard MacManus is the new senior editor for The New Stack, a news and analysis site about the services and infrastructures that developers build and the cultural impact that has on the way we work and live. MacManus is a longtime author of technology and culture books, and has also written for Cybercultural, Augment Intelligence, and Newsroom NZ.
Block Club Chicago has hired Jake Wittich as a reporter to cover the Lakeview/Boystown/Lincoln Park neighborhoods; he starts in June. Wittich is currently covering local news with an LGBTQ focus as a weekend reporter at the Chicago Sun-Times and as a freelancer for Block Club Chicago. He has also contributed to various LGBTQ publications including the Windy City Times.
Claudia Vargas has swapped print reporting for broadcast news and has joined NBC’s WCAU-TV and Telemundo's WWSI-TV duoplay in Philadelphia as an investigative reporter. She previously spent a decade at the Philadelphia Inquirer where she reported on government and politics. Before that, Vargas worked as a reporter for the Democrat and Chronicle.
WTTW-TV, the PBS station in Chicago, has welcomed Heather Cherone as digital news reporter covering City Hall. She was previously a managing editor for The Daily Line and prior to that reported for the now-defunct DNAInfo community news website.
