Donna Collins has been named editor in chief for Buffalo Business First. Collins has been a part of Business First since its launch in 1984. She has filled many roles since her start such as reporter and editor in chief in which she served for 13 years before stepping away for personal reasons. Most recently, she served as managing editor.
LinkedIn has hired Jillian Harding as a producer for the "Business Unusual" show hosted by Caroline Fairchild. Harding joins from Yahoo Finance where she served as a producer. Before that, she was a digital video producer and writer for CBS MoneyWatch.
The New York Times has hired David Leonhardt as the new writer and host for the flagship re-branded newsletter, The Morning. Leonhardt joined Opinion in 2016. Since then he has written his own column and hosted the podcast, "The Argument." Before joining Opinion, he served as a Washington bureau chief, created the Upshot and was a magazine staff writer. In his new role, Leonhardt will step away from his work in Opinion to work with Adam Pasick to develop a team for the newsletter.
Serious Eats has welcomed Daniela Galarza as a features editor. Before joining, Galarza was a freelance journalist for a year. Before that, she served as a senior editor for Eater for four years. She has also held posts at Los Angeles Magazine as a deputy dine editor and Blaze PR as director of digital media.
KTTZ-FM, a non-commercial station in Lubbock, Texas, has hired Sarah Self-Walbrick as a reporter and producer for Texas Tech Public Media. She joins from Lubbock Avalanche-Journal where she served as a business reporter for three years. Before that, she was a content curator for Lubbock Business Magazine.
Tige Jones has been appointed to station manager for KHQA-TV, the CBS affiliate in Quincy, Illinois. He has been in the broadcast industry for 11 years. and served as an account executive and then sales manager before his promotion.
Rick Lipps has expanded his duties as general manager for Sinclair Broadcast to include the Quincy Market with the addition of KHQA-TV, the CBS affiliate in Quincy, Illinois. Previously, Lipps served as a general manager for Sinclair Broadcast covering the Champaign, Springfield, Decatur territories in Illinois.
