Neela Banerjee has joined NPR/National Public Radio as climate editor. She comes from Inside ClimateNews, where she served as senior reporter for five years. Banerjee is a a veteran reporter and has covered energy and the environment for the Los Angeles Times and The New York Times.
The Daily Line, a subscription newsletter about Illinois politics and policy, has named Mark Guarino managing editor and contributing writer. He is a veteran journalist and Chicago correspondent for The Washington Post and throughout his career has also written for the Chicago Sun-Times, served as Midwest bureau chief of The Christian Science Monitor, and spent 14 years at the Daily Herald as a reporter.
Alexandra Garfinkle is the new reporter for P&C Specialist. She was previously a reporter at The Deal, part of Euromoney Institutional Investor, and spent two years covered consumer goods, retail and REITS. Before that, Garfinkle worked for Forbes.
Crain's Cleveland Business will welcome Michelle Jarboe May 18 as enterprise reporter. She comes from the Cleveland Plain Dealer where she was a commercial real estate reporter for 12 years. Prior to that, Jarboe worked at The News & Record in Greensboro, North Carolina, where she wrote about retail, development, planning, zoning and consumer utilities on the paper’s business staff.
WGN-TV's veteran reporter Julie Unruh has picked up extra duties at the station. She has been named co-anchor of WGN Midday News effective immediately. Unruh replaces Steve Sanders, who retired from the Chicago station after 37 years. Unruh joins Dina Bair as co-anchor, the first time a female duo has led WGN Midday News. In addition to her anchor duties, Unruh will continue to provide in-depth reporting for WGN News.
WPPZ-FM radio in Philadelphia has shifted on-air talent Wendy ' Lady B ' Clark to afternoons and will now host in the 2 p.m. - 7 p.m. timeframe. She has been with the station since early 2019 and has since hosted the 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. timeslot. Lady B is a veteran radio personality and American rapper. In 1984, she moved to Philadelphia's Power 99 FM and started the program The Street Beat, which ran until 1989. She later broadcast for SiriusXM and has also worked for WRNB-FM in Philadelphia until 2017.
