Kate Lanphear has returned to T: The New York Times Style Magazine this time as style director. Her first stint at the magazine was from January 2013 through October 2014 when she served as style editor. Most recently, Lanphear was the creative director at Marie Claire, and before that spent a couple of years as a fashion consultant for Google. She has also worked for Harper’s Bazaar and Elle, and helmed Maxim magazine for a year.
The Wall Street Journal has named Rachel Feintzeig work and life columnist. She replaces Sue Shellenbarger, who retired in January after four decades at the paper. Feintzeig has been with The Journal since 2013 and has since covered management trends and chief executives. Before that, she spent five years at Dow Jones as bankruptcy reporter.
BizBash, the publication for ideas, news, and resources for event and meeting professionals, has announced the promotion of two top editors:
- Ashton Pike has been promoted to editor in chief. She has been with BizBash since December 2019 and joined the staff as senior editor. Before that she spent several years at Modern Luxury in various positions, including editor in chief of Modern Luxury Medicine + Doctors Atlanta.
- Claire Hoffman has been promoted to executive editor. She has been with BizBash for more than a decade, most recently as West Coast bureau chief. She also writes a weekly column covering local Los Angeles event industry news and is involved in BizBash's “GatherGeeks” podcast. Hoffman has also previously served as managing editor at the brand’s former New York-based headquarters.
Sarah Zimmerman has been promoted to deputy digital editor for audience and social media at Crain's Chicago Business. She joined the outlet in September 2019 as a reporter and mostly handled breaking news. Before that, Zimmerman was an Oregon statehouse reporter for the Associated Press.
CNBC has announced several changes to some of its on-air teams:
- Sara Eisen is now an anchor for "Closing Bell" exclusively. She previously split her on-air time between "Closing Bell" and "Squawk on the Street." She has been with CNBC since 2013.
- Morgan Brennan will move from "Squawk Alley" to co-anchor the 10 a.m. ET hour of "Squawk on the Street." She joined the cable network in 2013 as general assignment reporter.
JB Wilde has moved East to become the director of content for Townsquare Media's Monmouth/Ocean, New Jersey, cluster, which include the Shore Sports Network, WOBM-FM, WADB-AM, WJLK-FM and WCHR-FM. He was most recently the regional operations manager for the company's Rochester, Minnesota, stations and joined Townsquare Media in 2016 after 14 years at iHeart Radio.
WCTK-FM radio in New Bedford, Massachusetts/Providence, Rhode Island has moved Courtney Kelley from middays to mornings, joining Brian Mulhern as co-host. She has been with the station since 2013 and moved up from weekends/fill-in to midday host in July 2019.
