Media Moves US,
/ by Anna Marevska
Not too long after ESPN Radio cancelled the "Golic and Wingo" morning radio show -- which ends on July 31 -- both hosts have landed new gigs, and both remain at ESPN:
Lauren Lumpkin is the new reporter on the Education Team at The Washington Post. She will cover colleges and universities in the region. Lumpkin spent the past year as an education follow at The Post and before that was an education reporter at the Capital Gazette in Annapolis.
MarketWatch has hired Levi Sumagaysay as a tech reporter covering the gig economy. She started July 20 and is based in San Francisco. Sumagaysay spent the past several months as a multimedia journalist at Race and Coronavirus, a newsletter and podcast which explore the effects of the COVID-19 crisis on minorities and immigrants in the United States. Before that she had a brief stint at Protocol, and prior to that spent almost a decade at the Bay Area News Group as a tech enterprise reporter.
Ashley Gold has joined Axios as a Washington-based reporter covering tech policy. She was most recently a Washington reporter for The Information and has also previously worked at Politico Pro as technology reporter, BBC News as U.S. writer, and FierceHealth IT as associate editor.
Debtwire has promoted Rachel Butt to associate editor. She spent the past year as a middle market energy senior reporter and has been on staff since 2016 when she joined as a reporter. Prior to that, Butt interned at Business Insider and Bloomberg News.
Lisa Helem is the newly appointed executive editor, strategic initiatives at Bloomberg Industry. Her duties include developing new editorial features, special reports, and other business strategies aimed at expanding readership, particularly with diverse and younger readers. She comes from the National Law Journal, where she was the editor in chief.
