Business Insider has announced a promotion and a new hire:
- Caroline Hroncich has been promoted to careers editor, upped from career and strategy associate editor. She has been with Business Insider since December 2019.
- Danni Santana is the new associate retail editor. He comes from Front Office Sports, where he served as a reporter for almost a year. Prior to that, Santana worked at Skift as a travel reporter.
Emily Ashton has joined Bloomberg News in London as a reporter covering British politics. She was most recently a senior political correspondent at BuzzFeed UK and has also served as a Whitehall correspondent at The Sun. Ashton has also worked at the Press Association for more than five years and held a variety of positions including multimedia reporter, political reporter and chief Parliamentary reporter.
The Wall Street Journal has promoted John Simons to deputy science and health editor. He spent the past two years at The Journal's London bureau as energy editor for EMEA and has previously also served as transportation editor and deputy bureau chief of the management group. Prior to joining The Journal in 2016, Simons worked for the International Business Times, the Associated Press, Fortune magazine, and other publications.
Chris Harnick has joined HBO as a manager of digital content; he is based in New York. Harnick comes from E! Networks where he spent the past six years as the TV editor and led daily editorial coverage for all TV-related content. Prior to that, he was a news editor at HuffPost.
WCMH-TV, the NBC affiliate in Columbus, Ohio, has named Jennifer Bullock weekend evening anchor. She has been with the station since 2014 and joined the staff as a producer. In the past five years, Bullcok has served as traffic anchor.
WBAL News Radio in Baltimore, Maryland, has launched a new morning news and talk program with Clarence M. Mitchell IV, known to audiences as C4, and Bryan Nehman. The new show is titled "C4 and Bryan Nehman" and airs weekdays from 5:30-10 a.m. It will offer insight, debate and examination of the day’s top issues, as well as provide breaking news, weather, traffic and sports updates. Mitchell previously hosted “The C4 Show” weekdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Nehman has spent the past eight years as host of “WBAL News Now” weekday mornings.
