The Washington Post has three new hires:

  • Jason Murray has joined the paper as an assignment editor in Sports, responsible for overseeing coverage of the NBA, WNBA and college sports. He started Aug. 3. Murray was most recently the director of content and a member of the editorial board at The Post-Standard and 
  • Lola Fadulu has joined Post Local as a reporter/The Washington Post-American University graduate fellow. She has previously reported for The New York Times and The Atlantic.
  • Meryl Kornfield has joined the General Assignment news desk, where she covers breaking news and write enterprise. She started Aug. 3. Kornfiled was previously an investigative fellow at The Post and has also previously interned at the South Florida Sun Sentinel and the Palm Beach Post. 

Ayanna Alexander has shifted to covering social justice at Bloomberg Law. She was previously on the pharmaceutical and health sciences news beat at Bloomberg Industry Group. Alexander joined Bloomberg in 2018 and has previously interned at Politico.

Bloomberg News in Toronto has named Danielle Bochove bureau chief. She has been with Bloomberg since 2015 and has since worked as a cross-platform journalist. Before that, Bochove was a business host for Canada’s CBC network, and prior to that spent five years as a business anchor at BNN, and as a financial anchor out of Tokyo and London at Reuters before that.

"The Drew Barrymore Show" has been slated to premier on September 14, 2020. It will be produced and syndicated by CBS Television Distribution and available in most major U.S. markets.  Drew Barrymore will serve as the host and executive producer, alongside producers Chris Miller and Ember Truesdell.

Laura Lee has joined Southeastern Ohio Broadcasting System WWCD-FM radio in Columbus as interim program director and midday host. She replaces Rachael Gordon, who hosted middays and resigned after 15 years with the station; she also replaces PD Mason “Mase” Brazelle who passed away in June. Lee was previously the PD at WRMR-FM in Jacksonville, North Carolina.

WZMJ-FM in Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina has hired Tony Clyburn as afternoon host. He will also host the "Hometown Heroes" segment featuring news stories of local police, EMS and firefighters. Clyburn returns to radio after a three-year hiatus. He was most recently an afternoon host and public service director at Cumulus AC WTCB-FM for 24 years.
