The New York Times has announced two promotions on its Culture desk in New York and another in Paris:
Trey Williams is the new race and social issues editor at the Kansas City Star. He was most recently a business reporter covering Wall Street for MarketWatch, and in Los Angeles, covering Hollywood for The Wrap. He also worked as a Star intern in the summer of 2013.
The Washington Post has hired Dalvin Brown as innovations reporter, effective Nov. 9. He will explore new products and services as well as emerging technologies that may impact lives at home and work. Brown comes from USA Today, where he spent the past two years covering consumer technology and the automotive industry from New York. Before that, he covered consumer tech for Mashable.
Christopher Haberli has joined NBC News as line producer. He comes from Fox Business where he served as a writer and line producer for "Varney & Co" for almost two years. Prior to that, Haberli worked for MSNBC for three-and-a-half years where he produced and researched for "Morning Joe." He has also worked for CBS Interactive and Deutsche Welle.
WJXB-FM (B97.5) radio in Knoxville, Tennessee, has hired Roger Todd as a morning host alongside Ashely Adams and Michele Silva. He succeeds Brad Jeffries. Todd comes from WPCV-FM in Lakeland-Winter Haven, Florida, where he was the morning host.
WVPE (88.1) public radio in Northern Indiana and Southwest Michigan has added two on-air staff:
