The Washington Post has announced a promotion on the National desk and an addition on the Features desk:

  • Victoria Benning has joined the National desk as deputy America editor, helping guide coverage of breaking news. She comes from the Local desk, where she has been The Post's transportation and development editor since 2013.Benning has been at the paper for 25 years starting as education reporter. For several years, she also has worked as Metro's Sunday editor, driving weekend coverage.
  • Aaron Hutcherson will join Features as a writer and recipe developer for Voraciously, The Post’s  food destination. He starts Dec. 14. Hutcherson will develop recipes, write how-to guides for kitchen and cooking techniques as well as occasional profiles, trend pieces and other feature stories. He spent the past several years as a  a freelance writer, recipe developer, photographer and food stylist whose work has appeared in The Post, The New York Times, Food & Wine, Eater, Thrillist, Taste, Serious Eats, Food52 and Simply Recipes, among other publications.

Andrew Solender, a reporter at Forbes, now covers the incoming Biden/Harris administration, the presidential  transition and Congress. He was most recently on the politics beat covering the 2020 election. Solender joined Forbes in April 2020 and before that served as the editor in chief of The Vassar Insider, and a political correspondent at Luminary Media before that.

South Carolina daily the Greenville News has welcomed two new reporters:

  • Kirk Brown has joined the staff as a politics and government reporter. He comes from Gannett's Anderson Independent Mail, where he had been since 2010.
  • Marcus Navarro has joined the staff as a business reporter focusing on the economics of healthcare. He was most recently an intern at Politico and an assignment editor at Nexstar Media Group in Albany, New York, before that.

"The Talk," on CBS has announced the addition of two new co-hosts. who will make their debut on the program in January 2021. They replace replace Eve and Marie Osmond:

  • Elaine Welteroth will join the broadcast as a co-host. She is the former editor in chief of Teen Vogue, a former judge on "Project Runway," and a New York Times bestselling author of "More Than Enough: Claiming Space for Who You Are No Matter What They Say."
  • Amanda Kloots has been named co-host. She is the widow of the late Broadway star Nick Cordero who died earlier this year after complications due to COVID-19. Kloots is a former Broadway dancer and Radio City Rockette, and the founder of global fitness brand AK! Fitness.   

Dave Coombs has joined WLZX-FM radio (Lazer 99.3/98.5) in Northampton, Massachusetts, as a morning host. He is on-air weekdays, 5:30-10 a.m. He comes from Townsquare Media and WLZW-FM in Utica, New York, and before that spent 20 years as a morning jock at WTKW Syracuse.
