The Cision Senior Business Analyst will serve as the primary expert on the health of Cision’s marketing efforts at various stages of the customer lifecycle (awareness, nurture, acquisition, retention). He/she is responsible for using data-driven insights to optimize Cision marketing spend and deliver analysis and recommendations regarding financial performance and ROI. He/she is also responsible for owning the marketing budget. A constant and deep understanding of campaign performance, opportunities for improvement, and recommended plans of action to improve Sales velocity and coordination will be key to success. 

What you'll help us with:

  • Synthesize raw data from multiple sources (e.g. Google Analytics, Salesforce.com, Eloqua) to create comprehensive funnel activity reporting; regularly disseminate to key stakeholders via easy-to-digest dashboard format. 
  • Improve on existing marketing dashboards and reports; establish process for sharing with senior management, Finance and other key stakeholders 
  • Work with Business Intelligence, Content Marketing and others to build comprehensive email campaign dashboard that tracks performance and customer metrics at all stages of the funnel. 
  • Manage vendor contract renewals and marketing budget. Make recommendations regarding budget use, trends and performance improvement in terms of ROI.  
  • Identify insights, track key performance indicators and suggest process improvements; partner with relevant stakeholder groups to enact these recommendations 
  • Apply financial and predictive marketing analytics to forecast volume and financial metrics 
  • Cull through, assess and sanity-check data to ensure integrity; work with Business Intelligence group to gain access to necessary data and correct data errors 
  • Aggregate, organize and visualize data to communicate effectively. 
  • Create standard queries and reports to respond to data requests from managers. 
  • Understand, measure, test and report the drivers of marketing success. 
  • As needed, work with Global Marketing team to ensure data is captured consistently for all countries/markets 
  • Generate ad hoc reporting as requested. Collaborate across departments to understand the business problem, define requirements and lead implementation of analysis and queries. 

You'll be a good fit if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Business Administration, Finance or related field required, Master’s a plus 
  • 5+ years specializing in business, financial and/or marketing analytics and reporting 
  • Experience with Salesforce.com or other similar reporting platforms required 
  • Advanced SQL and strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel, required 
  • Experience with Google Analytics or other business intelligence and data visualization tools preferred, but not required 
  • Experience with large-scale data analysis and statistical analysis tools (R, Python Pandas, etc.) a plus 
  • Exceptional independent problem-solving skills and willingness to proactively seek out information  
  • Excellent communications skills, oral and written with an analytical approach 
  • Positive, professional and outgoing; able to work independently and as part of a team  
  • Creative with the ability to bring together multiple data sources and develop analytical solutions, even with imperfect data 
  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask under tight deadlines
