The VP of Demand Generation is responsible for leading Cision’s Demand Generation team.  Reporting into the SVP Marketing, this role will oversee all aspects of Demand Generation including channel management, field/event marketing, inbound/outbound demand generation, content marketing and creative services.  The role will be responsible for building out demand generation strategy and processes to drive high value, high converting leads to help drive Cision’s ambitious growth goals across out three primary lines of business: Software, Insights, and Distribution. Although the priority focus in on our US Market, the role is also responsible for driving demand generation in our other regional markets in collaboration with those Commercial teams. This will involve collaborating across functions including Sales, Marketing, Sales Operations, IT and Data Science to establish process and governance for lead acquisition, enrichment, management, and execution

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Demand Generation team
  • Hire and direct great talent to achieve organization’s priorities
  • Manage all aspects of Demand Generation including channel management, field/event marketing, inbound demand generation (SEM, SEO, etc.), outbound demand generation (lead database, ABM, etc.), content marketing and creative services
  • Develop leads based upon Buyers Journey and aligned Intent Categories
  • Establish, track, and analyst KPIs to optimize marketing and commercial performance and ensure drive data-driven decision-making
  • Build the strategy to define Cision’s Total Addressable Market and Sales Addressable Market
  • Partner across Cision’s 3 Lines of Business (Software, Insights and Distribution) to determine optimal acquisition, cross-sell and upsell demand generation strategies
  • Develop scalable, repeatable process to deliver high performing campaigns to Sales teams
  • Management/oversight for Demand Gen vendors

Experience/Competencies:

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in B2B Marketing and Demand Generation, with proven track record of maximizing commercial results via demand generation optimization
  • Strong ownership: displays a high degree of proactivity and accountability in their work and instills that mindset in their teams
  • Deeply analytical: strong ability to review and inspect data results, guide analysis where needed, and make data-driven decisions and strategy
  • Effective decision-making: Comfortable making decisions in situations with limited data, little structure and/or few established processes. Willing to work though ambiguity and prioritize with 80/20 focus
  • Familiarity with Eloqua, Salesforce, Google Analytics or similar Martech systems
  • Ability to influence across the organization utilizing a data driven approach to Demand Generation
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with partners such as Sales and Sales Operations
  • Experience driving new, impactful content and creative strategies
