5 Tips for using CisionWire’s SEO Distribution

Before you upload your next press release to CisionWire, check out these five tips to help you get the more visibility for your release on the search engines while getting in front of journalists looking for story ideas on

1. Auto-tag your release

It’s important for your press release to be tagged with keywords so that the search engines know how to classify your release. CisionWire does the work for you. Simply click on the “Suggest Tags” link on the press release upload page in CisionPoint and we’ll suggest keywords based on the content of your release. If you are not a CisionPoint customer, our client services team can either pick keyword tags for you or you can let them know what tags you would like to include and they will add them to your release during the upload process.

2. Post all of your press releases in one place

CisionWire allows you to build your very own press release archive on that is optimized for the search engines. Once your press release is distributed, it will automatically appear in your press room and will be archived indefinitely.

3. Include Multimedia

The search engines love videos and photos, but unfortunately, not many PR people are including this type of content with their press releases.  With CisionWire, you can upload your photos and videos to your press room on for free. It will be archived forever and will appear next to your press releases under “Related Pictures”. It’s a great way to build a virtual “newsroom” for each of your press releases – a place where a journalist can go for all information surrounding your release.

4. Send to CisionWire via our SEO press release distribution

Once you’ve created your press room and populated it with multimedia content, upload your release to via our SEO distribution. It will be posted on your press room, optimized for search engines like Google, Yahoo! and Bing, and included in RSS feeds sent directly to the media & CisionWire subscribers.

5. Distribute to Social Media Sites

Create some buzz around your news. Every press release on includes Social Media bookmarking tags which allow you to retweet your release or post it on your Facebook Fan page with the click of a button.
