Ad Age editor uses social media to keep tabs on his beat

Q: How do you use social media?

“I tend to use [social media] more for covering products and companies – using a search to keep up with what people are saying about companies and products and such that I cover,” Neff says. When he is writing about a topic he also uses social media to see what kind of reception it’s already getting. “Sometimes I do choose folks to follow. To the extent that I have time to read what goes through the newsfeeds or Twitter feeds, sometimes things come that way,” he says.
