Pitching for Valentine’s Day

Handling Comms During COVID-19? We've compiled our best resources.

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, bringing romantic gifts and getaways, dinners for two and delectable desserts. Although pitching gift or recipe ideas to most print publications may be out of the question this close to the holiday, many blogs and online publications welcome contributions.

For those late to the game or just wanting to further maximize your coverage, here are some blogs and online magazine looking for your pitches:

Deena Wachtel – Stay at Home Foodie

Foodie blogger Deena Wachtel is always looking for new ideas, restaurants and recipes, but for Valentine’s Day what she really would like is kid-friendly recipes.

Dianna Davis — WhateverDeeDeeWants.com

A lifestyle blog, she updates daily and covers shopping finds, reading and movie lists, crafts, recipes, giveaways, daily life and more. In honor of Valentine’s Day, she is looking to post anything related to crafts, kids and food.

Jaime Palmucci – BeautyDebutane.com/DenimDebutante.com

Featuring tips on beauty products and the latest in denim clothing, pitches focused on fashion and beauty are accepted during the Valentine’s Day season.

Julee Morrison — MommysMemorandum.com

Mommy’s Memorandum focuses on parenting and products for busy families, and includes giveaways, product reviews and features. Blogger Julee Morrison covers products such as jewelry, crafts and recipes. She is looking for Valentine’s Day gift ideas to share with her readers. “I’d love anything that’s unique, fun, whimsical and declares love,” she said in an email.

Kim Gordon – Popcosmo.com

Targeted at teenage girls 13 to 18, Popcosmo.com discusses the latest trends in beauty, health, fashion, tech, and entertainment. For Valentine’s Day, teen-related products are key. But send them your products fast, as they only feature items they have already tested or used.

Kim Ritter – 2 Kids and a Coupon

Providing deals and links to coupons for more thrifty living, this mommy blogger accepts paid articles and advertising. For Valentine’s Day, she is running numerous posts targeted at the holiday and is looking for family-friendly product pitches, recipes, crafts and activities.

Lisa Collins – Sweeties Freebies

Another site geared toward those looking for the best deals and freebies available, the ladies who run this site will be putting together a Valentine’s Day gift guide and are looking for recipes and products to review or give away.

Phyllis Pometta – Tots to Teens Magazine

A digital and online magazine, Tots to Teens Magazine features reviews, information and guidance for parents and buyers of baby, toddler, kids, tweens, and teen products. For Valentine’s Day, editor in chief Phyllis Pometta said they are looking for teen-related gifts, particularly unique gifts that kids will be excited about. They are also looking to feature recipes that are kid-friendly for cooking and eating.

Shafonne Myers – Pretty Pear Bride

Pretty Pear Bride is a blog dedicated to the plus-sized bride. Editor Shafonne Myers is looking to include a recipe she will feature alongside a Valentine’s Day segment.
