New At Viralheat: Pinterest Monitoring and Analytics

Pinterest has certainly made a name for itself in the relatively short amount of time it has been around. Many referring to it as the fastest growing social media site of its time or others praising it as the best social site for referring traffic. Whether you fall into either category described above or have you own thoughts on the site, one thing that’s for certain, it is time to pay close attention to Pinterest.

As Pinterest continues to entertain and captivate audiences, it’s important for companies to have the ability to make sense of data that could benefit them. Especially since the content on Pinterest, in the form of Pins, is pinned straight from a company’s website.  Viralheat recognized the need for more detailed Pinterest analytics and monitoring capabilities and is happy to announce these newest features have been added to Viralheat.

The new Pinterest features for Viralheat can be found in the profile section of the tool.  This is the area where custom keyword search profiles can be set up to monitor mentions relating to a product, brand, competitor, or industry. For each profile, the dashboard will display a Share of Voice graph depicting the portion of mentions coming from each channel.

To start we’ll take a look at Pinterest Mentions. These are the pins, repins, likes, boards, image names, or domains where the keywords from the profile found a match. The pins are sorted by date so it is easy to identify the most recent pins. Displayed similarly to Pinterest, a count of repins and likes are found under each image.

After reviewing the mentions tab, head over to the analytics tab to find more detailed statistics based on your Viralheat profiles. View total pins, the number of original pins, total likes, and the total number of unique pinners. These general statistics can provide the perfect amount of information to get a better understanding of your mentions on Pinterest. In the performance statistics, you will get data relating to how well a pin did in terms of number of repins or likes as well as information on the pinners that pin content mentioning your keywords. Within the analytics, you also have the opportunity to review your Pinterest influencers by impact and volume. Use this data to pinpoint potential brand ambassadors and potential customers.
