“Vocus makes it easier to do our job,” says Kyle Blades, Director of Marketing for Diamond Nexus. “Before Vocus, it was difficult to have a single hub for our online marketing. It’s streamlined our process of creating and sending out content.”
The Wisconsin-based lab-created diamond producer and retailer didn’t always have it so easy. The task of attracting web traffic through SEO and outside links had proved a time-consuming challenge. Once Diamond Nexus began using the Vocus Marketing Suite’s online marketing tools, however, it saw an immediate influx of traffic to its website.
“Immediately we started seeing an impact from it,” Kyle says. “I couldn’t believe it. We invested more into the suite because we saw how quickly we were getting a return on that.”

Kyle’s team are big users of the Suite’s news releases, which allow them to flex their creative muscles and stand out from the crowd. They publish a mix of creative stories that hook onto wider news trends like the Royal Wedding, as well as stories about company announcements like Diamond Nexus’s sponsorship of the Miss USA Competition.

“We publish about two or three press releases a week–sometimes more,” Kyle says. “We did several posts leading up to the Miss USA Competition and saw a huge spike in our traffic.”
Diamond Nexus is now building on the success of its press releases by combining more of the suite’s features to create lead generation and engagement. The team is now using Twitter engagement and Vocus Facebook apps to run contests that bring in new customers, bolster their social media following and convert visitors from window shoppers to paying customers.
“Marketing is no longer a push tactic,” Kyle says. “Now you’re trying to engage consumers one-on-one, and create dialogue with them. What Vocus has allowed us to do is create a singular point instead of having to log into multiple accounts.”
“Vocus has allowed us to increase our referral and organic traffic through press releases, back-linking and pushing tweets. Lead engagement, lead generation, and lead conversion are the three things we really looked at. Vocus accomplishes all of those.”
Diamond Nexus has only begun to scratch the surface of the wide array of opportunities that the Vocus Marketing Suite provides and continues to look for ways to improve business and sales.
“Every time we log into Vocus, it seems like we have a different thing that we are learning,” Kyle says. “What’s on the horizon for us is only limited by our imagination.”
